Taggart to FSU; Leavitt stays at Oregon

Jimmy Johnson did it. As I recall he was 30-25 at Oklahoma State before he came to Miami.

And Oklahoma State was a losing program all-time (under .500) in a major conference where his two primary rivals (Oklahoma and Nebraska) were powerhouses.

Willie Taggart had Florida dogs on his roster while playing the likes of Rutgers, Connecticut and Temple.

Willie and Jimbo have been head coaching 8 years (the same)
Jimbo is 83-23
Willie is 47-50...

Jimbo been to 8 bowl games, Willie to 2.

I ain't skeered of Willie Taggart at fsu.

Someone convince me that this is a good thing?

Cause what I know of Willie...
He runs a nice offense and he can recruit.

I dont know why you got down voted. I agree. This isnt a good thing for us. Taggart can recruit & he'll out together a dynamic offense. Only positive is he pays no mind at all to rules so he'll quickly get them sighted for lack of institutional control. Some of the **** he's been doing at oregon ous just blatantly reckless.

Of Taggart's 25 losses at South Florida, only 3 of them were by one score or less.

He lost by an average of 17 points.

The guy got handled a lot.

Because all of the praise for Taggart is abstract.

"He can recruit!"

"He runs a nice offense!"

While all of the tangible things are bad.

Like his overall record, his penchant for getting blown out, etc.

Taggart is going to get exposed.

His own DC did a far better job at USF -- with less of a profile -- than Taggart did.

And he won 11 one score games.

So he was 11-3 in one score games (the ball bounced his way).

Not to mention that his first 6 wins were by one score which means he didn't win a game by 9 points or more until his 3rd season.

JJ was overrated.

Great coaches don't go 8-5 when they inherit a team that won the NC the year before.

Great coaches don't panic away a NC game (86' Fiesta) with one of the greatest teams in that schools Championship rich history.

Only thing JJ was great at was being the luckiest MF alive as a recipient of that Herschel Walker trade.

Just like Randy Shannon with the last game in the OB, JJ will forever be known as the coach that sent Marino off with a 62-7 drubbing after Fred Taylor pimped His *** in 2K.

Jimmy Johnson didnt have a losing record at two schools. He didnt have minimal major college experience. He had coordinator experience.

There is NOTHING in taggart’s resume that points to him being a championship level coach.

Sorry, man. I down voted by accident.

I understand what youre saying but if you dont realize one schools failures or sucess doesnt necessarily transition to the next then youre not being real with yourself. For instance the caliber of players he could recruit at usf isnt even comparable to what he can recruit at fsu... **** get dynamic players there. At oregon he was making tons of noise in the recruiting world. Hes a city dude. He relates well with these kids. I hope youre right & were wrong though. I dont ever wanna see them, ufag or notre pedophile succeed.

Okay, I point out that JJ lost two title games all the time, BUT he is still the dude that made us THE U! His first season was result of the administration forcing him to keep former staff because players want them to hire the DC, who later helped destroy the fins. The team pretty much quit on him after beating auburn to shut their mouths about the prior year and the gator for vengeance from the prior year. JJ gave us the 4-3 Miami defense to replace the 5-2 (basically a 3-4J that Howard left. Between Howard’s offense and JJ defense they invented The U.

Recruiting only goes well when you win. This dude is going to be a 8-4 type coach.

Schools are not taking the FSU job. Taggart is.

So his performance is relevant.
