Taggart to FSU; Leavitt stays at Oregon

I dont know why you got down voted. I agree. This isnt a good thing for us. Taggart can recruit & he'll out together a dynamic offense. Only positive is he pays no mind at all to rules so he'll quickly get them sighted for lack of institutional control. Some of the **** he's been doing at oregon ous just blatantly reckless.

Because all of the praise for Taggart is abstract.

"He can recruit!"

"He runs a nice offense!"

While all of the tangible things are bad.

Like his overall record, his penchant for getting blown out, etc.

I understand what youre saying but if you dont realize one schools failures or sucess doesnt necessarily transition to the next then youre not being real with yourself. For instance the caliber of players he could recruit at usf isnt even comparable to what he can recruit at fsu... **** get dynamic players there. At oregon he was making tons of noise in the recruiting world. Hes a city dude. He relates well with these kids. I hope youre right & were wrong though. I dont ever wanna see them, ufag or notre pedophile succeed.

It's all relative, he's wasn't facing the same type of competition as he will at FSU

Edit: Post above beat me to it

Not to play the "insider" card, but one of my former partners is on the USF board of trustees and WT was two games away from getting fired. Out of desperation he started running the spread with Flowers and the rest is history. I think he will do fine at FSU, but he is unlikely to be the next Saban, Meyer, or Fisher.......

Wikipedia says WT runs the gulf coast offense. What's his background with that offense?

I thought he was a Harbaugh offense guy.

He was very conservative until the end of his next to last season. Fans and reporters were demanding his head. Then he rolled out a spread with Flowers, who is spectacular, and everything changed. The RB suddenly was in space, the OL problems weren't as bad, and Flowers threw the short ball well as he ran around like it was a playground. Next year they scored tons and went 10-2 I think. Then the Ducks called and off he went. Reportedly he is a really good guy but he is not special or elite.

What cracks me up is why people think dumbo is such a great coach... he benifitted from timing & other staffs more than anything. Im sorry im just not sold on him and i know plenty of their players leave there and flat out hate fsu cause of dumbo. Im talking bout dudes who were stars not bitter kids cause they didnt play. If he didnt go against golden & a wore down beamer dude qouldve been just another corch.

So do we know if Leavitt actually left Oregon with Willie? The tweet from Leavitt last night made it seem like he wasn't coming.

This is true.

He started 1-3 in 2015 (7-21 overall to that point) and was weeks from getting fired. Then Quinton Flowers went all Jackson High School on their opponents and now Willie Taggart is $30 million dollars richer.

Jimbo inherited a 7-6 team that had just finished what they call the "Lost Decade" in Tallahassee.

He went 83-23, won 3 ACC championships and a national championship.

You don't think he's a great coach but Willie Taggart is?

Oregon: After a report earlier today from Oregon reporter Steve Mims that Jim Leavitt would follow Willie Taggart to Florida State, Justin Hopkins of Scoop Duck tweets that Leavitt prefers to stay at Oregon. Leavitt himself tweeted earlier today: “Always been honest. Never have I mislead. Have great passion for the Ducks! Want to be a HC someday again Lord willing. Flying back tomorrow but tonight with my girls.”

Reports are he's staying in Oregon

If this dude misses out on Cristobal and Leavitt? He's dead in the water.

Leavitt can't talk with other schools without permission prior to 12/16. Unless they leak it so recruits know we probably won't hear until then

The best case scenario for FSU is that Taggart is as good of a recruiter as Jimbo. Top 5 classes every year is what Jimbo brought them. FSU always recruits well nothing big is changing here.

Yup, all the coaches that got fired had previous "success" at their previous stops...crap shoot.

“Always been honest. Never have I mislead.”

LOL:

On January 8, 2010, Leavitt was fired after an investigation by USF officials found that he had struck a player in the locker room during halftime of a game against Louisville the previous November 21. Leavitt claimed he was merely trying to console the player and never struck him. School officials found that Leavitt was not truthful about what happened, and also found that he had interfered with the investigation. ESPN's Ivan Maisel reported that Leavitt's interference, which included telling several players and coaches to change their stories, was the biggest factor in the decision to fire him. The Tampa Tribune reported that school president Judy Genshaft and athletic director Doug Woolard felt they had no choice but to fire Leavitt after he refused to admit he had done anything wrong. Running backs coach Carl Franks was named interim coach of the Bulls until January 14, 2010, when Skip Holtz was hired as head coach.

**** dude. I guess Jimbo just sits there and picks his nose during games and in the off season. Dude had a better winning percentage than Bobby Bowden. He was a highly regarded offensive coordinator with LSU. He's also an elite recruiter. I've watched enough FSU Miami games to see him coach circles around our guys. It took a miracle catch from Donkey **** to beat them this year despite having a QB worse than Rosier starting for them. But carry on.

Alot of people here in Tampa don't like ***gart. He's done plenty of recruits dirty in the past. See how well he does in this neck of the woods

Willie Taggart hasn't had any success though.

And there are markers that one can look at to separate coaches from the pack.

Taggart fails on almost every one of those markers.

but the caliber of players he can recruit at USF is an INSANE advantage over Uconn & Temple. Which is the point your missing.

Thats prey tough to have a better winning percentage as a coach relatively new to hear coaching than it is to have one for someone who wad a head coach before most of us were alive ain't it. Ill definitely say he's an elite recruiter. But the rest is nonsense. He had two years at lsu that he was a **** good oc as the rest of the time wad average art best. The defense did everything for fsu against us and he doesnt come near them with a ten foot pole. By the way you definitely just exposed your hand. Have a good one and i hope you like taggart.
