Because they fell in love with Flagg from the Spring game. Flagg has more instincts and played a higher level of football in high school where he was taught the position better IMO.

The thing is thst Flagg for the most part isn't playing at the level he did in the Spring and I think it’s because he can play faster against his own team where he knows what the offense is going to do

I think Austin-Cave has the highest ceiling at MLB. He should get an opportunity to show what he can do. If anything else, it should be to hold the others in front of him accountable.

Size doesn't matter. They start Keontra Smith and there is no way that guy is 215.
 
The one LB we've recruited that is 1) A natural instinctive LB and not converted from another position 2) Big enough to play the position in the P5 and 3) Fast, athletic, and twitchy - all 3 of those combined traits

Only one since Manny has been here. Excluding Shaq and Pink in the 1st Richt/Manny class

Can't say that about Keontra, Brooks, Huff, Troutman, Johnson, Flagg, Jennings, etc.

And he can't get on the field. That's got to be coaching.

His former teammate - DB Deuce Chestnut - is up at Syracuse having a great season. He's a kid who wanted a commitable offer at Miami but never got it. I could see TAC ending up at Syracuse, too

those landing spots are based solely on where his family is from. He has no inside info on where TAC would transfer to. The White comparisons are absurd, but at this point it literally can't get worse than Flagg or Jennings. The combo of Hall & Bolden look like all-americans compared to what we roll out at MLB every week.

Come on… to be fair we’ve only heard Devin White in these 4 pages, I can’t get excited about TAC until I’m reading he’s got the football acumen of Reggie White + Randy White with the smoothness of Barry White…

I know it's a message board, but engaging in this speculation is silly.

Equally silly is somehow believing that a guy that can't get on the field is somehow better than the folks in front of him. This coaching staff doesn't get the benefit of the doubt, but the likelihood is that he's not doing in practice what he ought to be doing to get PT.

The fair criticism is why guys like Huff, Austin-Cave, etc. haven't seemed to improve. Whether that's on Manny or Patke (likely both) I don't know.

Jennings isn’t playing much. TAC was injured not long ago and we played a close game that we won against the best team on our side of the conference. To moan about playing time in that scenario is sour grapes. If he doesn’t get snaps agains the teams on the remainder of our schedule I understand.

No the White comparisons are not absurd from a physical standpoint. Open your eyes. Devin Whit is the same height and weighs 235 as an NFL player. TAC weighs 225 as a Covid Freshman. TAC is as fast as Devin White. Maybe even faster. He ran 22.86 in the 200 meters. He also ran the 55 meter indoor, but we can't see the time without paying.

.Mark my words, after this young man becomes a starter at another school, he's going to test thru the roof at the NFL combine and they will be comparing his measurables to Devin White.

I cannot fathom how anyone posts this under manny’s reign. I also have to laugh that it got any likes. Do you guys watch the games because based on this post im **** near positive you guys don’t. And haven’t for 3 straight years. Should I rattle off how many players have sat on the bench why scrubs above them on the depth chart continue to play? They finally get snaps and prove they were the better option all along. I can almost guarantee this is the exact case with TAC. Anyone defending him not getting ANY snaps and calling it gossip is part of the problem at this point.

We cannot lose this kid. I believe he's the most talented athlete among the LBs, including Keontra who I love. Cave shows incredible burst when he's unleashed, but also has excellent lateral movement. It's a crime he's not being developed.

I agree Ragone played better than Flagg and Jennings, which shows what a low bar we've set at LB. If he were on the field more, Pickett would have figured out how to exploit him like he did the other two, just hadn't prepped for him so didn't realize what a liability the kid was.

Cave, meanwhile, would be like JW, make a few terrible mistakes, but then force a turnover with an "oooooohhhhh" play. He's a difference maker. A few games in, he'd be closing games out for us like JW did with that interception and Kinchens with those open field tackles.

Manny wouldn’t play Devin White till he was a senior and knew the playbook.
