T-Rob Hired!!

Who is Chris Wilson
He's legit....multiple incentives if he's brought onboard...1) Texas recruiting ties as he played HS ball there....2) Recruited at UGA/Miss St so safe to say his recruiting is somewhere between good and really good to great....3) Coached DL with Philly during their SB winning season, he was THE DL coach so he knows FOOTBALL......

Need I say more?

That’s cool and all but I’d rather believe a few select people here

i mean sure but theyre actually putting their name to it and they do have some sources at AU and UF given their network. not to say, they know more or less, just that they did have some info on it from their pod they dropped yesterday

No to all that. Don't want strong, don't want Baker sticking around.

Skrong is well respected in Florida and also has connections to Texas recruiting. He's also an excellent recruiter in his own right. One of the biggest complaints about the D was the lack of discipline and accountability. The D needs an adult in the room and the fact that he was a HC at one of the biggest pressure cookers in CFB can help a novice HC Diaz. We can worry about getting a genius DC in a couple years after the D shows it has mastered basic fundamentals. He'd also be a bargain. Skrong would also only be around for a couple years (if he's successful on D, he'd be hired as a HC somewhere) so Diaz will have the opportunity to get that genius DC you want later.

D Recruits seem to like Baker so he still has some tiny bit of value. Miami wouldn't have landed 2 5 star players on defense if they didn't like Baker. Patke brings nothing to the table and he makes almost the same as Baker. Baker shouldnt be calling plays but it doesn't bother me if he's on staff in some capacity. Patke does nothing yet commands almost a half million dollar salary.

I think most reasonable fans would be quite happy with the staff I proposed. You and a few others might not be, but there will always be fans who will complain incessantly that Diaz didn't hire the exact people they wanted and refuse to see the merit of other coaches. T-Rob is a terrific hire, now Diaz needs to continue to fill out the D staff with experienced professionals who are also top tier recruiters.

dont want someone who hasn't coordinated a defense in a long time. offenses evolve and we need a guy who can evolve with that. rather have someone who has been a DC recently vs someone who's been out of the game as a DC

I know he was there a long time ago but they would hire Steele as a HC?

i mean i think you never know esp when it comes to ******* Tennessee lol, but just wondering if hes personally waiting on that job to open up as a candidate vs taking a dc job elsewhere. could delay things. i was wondering if the t rob hire would've gotten delayed based on the LSU-Texas raymond standoff bc LSU is a place that you could see t-rob waiting on. luckily, we didnt have to find out

Considering Reynolds said that multiple hires are coming (and me knowing only one after T Rob) I ASSUME the other one is to replace Baker.
Prost!!!! For the good info you and others have brought

Watch how quickly all the stupid excuses that Michael T. Rump's water carriers used for him disappear. He was sabotaged by everyone. He had all these great CBs lined up ready to come that Manure wouldn't let him sign. Instantly, all that nonsense and excuses goes out the window.

right. does anyone actually believe anyone on staff will be limiting who t-rob goes after? its about time to be done with the rumph brigade bc even they could admit that this hire is 100000000000x the upgrade. hopefully, rumph does well wherever he ends up next (if not here in an off field role), but im excited about the guys we could land and develop at DBs and really excited to see him work with blades, hall, bolden with a full offseason

I think and hope you're right. Given our location, no excuse for Miami to not be loaded with CB talent. Rumph's a decent guy, but he should be coaching in the NFL where you don't need to recruit. He just doesn't have the personality to sell.
