T-Rob Hired!!

So....Stroud gone. Banda gone. Rumph gone. Patke apparently gone.

But Baker stays? Manny’s making all the right moves. At this point, I’d be surprised if he cleans house with position coaches but brings back the DC. That just doesn’t make sense to me.

Asking for a friend....you mean "slipping and sliding and limping" past BC like the GREATEST TEAM IN HISTORY OF FOOTBALL DID...the infamous Ed Reed/Matt Walter's game that we won by the skin of our teeth?

Side note: No comparisons of our team and that my fellow Cane-rades, my point is a win is a win is a win...regardless of how it's done. Now back to this guy.....

Can we conclude if Baker stays and is demoted, stripped of DC duty, and relegate to a positional coach, it’s because he had no other takers? Can’t imagine anyone worth his weight in salt staying under those circumstances.

Agree and hope you are right, Chise. Maybe he has learned if you are not changing/recreating, you are going backwards. His scheme is old and figured out. Time for a change!

Probably, but that UNC game broke me man. As fan I've never had the wind taken out of my sails like that, not even 48-0 at the OB did I feel that dejected. Convinced me that Manny would never get us over the hump. But, this is a really impressive hire and he managed to hold a really good class together. I'm intrigued about these coming staff moves and portal adds that have been hinted at the past few days.

Full disclosure, 48-0 was the same night I met my first genuine, bat-**** crazy piece of *** too. Mother was Italian, father was Cuban, and she thought that gave her a license to be a certified ****** psychopath anytime life was going too well for her liking. I took the good with the bad for as long as I could, and when I broke it off with her she went postal and stole my dog. But for all that crazy....Cot **** that woman made things better after the last game at the OB.

Yeah I'll probably start drinking soon. Wouldn't be upset if we got one more piece of good news today.
 
I'll be extremely impressed if, at end of all this, the entire defensive staff was shown the door. I've seen ALOT of people in powerful positions make comfortable decisions.... One more to go CMD..
 
If Patke is gone, then I’m going to be very impressed w/ Manny’s adjustments. It takes a man to admit he’s wrong & in essence, Manny will be admitting he was wrong with his staff hires. I can respect that; regardless if I think he’s the right coach or not. That willingness is something we haven’t had in a long time.


Now, let me be very clear; if the alleged reports came out that Manny was prodded to make these changes & they gave him the budget to get’er done, we have literally NO EXCUSES moving forward. No more scape goats. He’ll be surrounded by a competent staff on both sides of the ball.

So sounds like we will have AT LEAST 6 out of 11 coaches with high level play calling/coordinator experience. No more learning on the job at The U!!!!!!!
