CMD is very smart...he likes Baker's potential, for whatever reason...BUT...he's not going to allow him to ***** up his dream job at UM. DL coach and then a DC with LB coach background so Baker can learn from him...

If Baker is LB coach but our DC is a guy that's coaches LBs Manny can keep his guy while still doing what's best for the team. Baker would then be on a tight leash by the new DC and have to do/teach EXACTLY what he asks. I got no problem with this scenario if it plays out this way
 
There is absolutely no reason why all the coaches on d are gone but Baker still sticks around. I’d assume he will be out within the week. Let’s get weird today boys.

Patke doesn’t need to be on staff anymore, he brings absolutely nothing to the table, the entire Defensive staff needs to be revamped & at least 1-2 more Ace recruiters should be added.

Talent acquisition has to become a premium, yes scheme matters, but our biggest issue is we simply don’t have enough really good players to transform us into good team, we need more ballers at every level of the Defense.

This is the exact truth and what I've been saying forever.

Manure stacked that D staff with too many fake football scientists and unqualified buddies with zero salesmanship and zero personality. We need to depth charge that D staff and fill it with insane recruiters. Get a trusted vet DC, and give him a ton of talent to work with. That's the real Miami recipe.

I will give Manny Diaz credit...I'm not a believer, but he's at least reassessing what goes wrong and attempting to fix it...both on the staff and the roster. If he ultimately fails...at least it wasn't for a lack of trying.

(please get rid of Blake Baker or at least demote him to some sort of non-coordinating role, please)

Super elite leaders don’t grow on trees.

Neither do offensive gurus.

If you can’t nail down a unicorn head coach, you at least want to see a guy want to address issues with adjustments. That gives some hope, even if Manny fails. After the stubbornness we have witnessed with past coaches, it’s a breath of fresh air.

Interesting here...didn't really consider this that Wilson is coming to call plays for what looks like his 1st time doing it..correct me if I'm wrong there. Not sure how I feel about this scenario...I'll have to let it marinate for a bit 🤔

Chris Wilson was Co-defensive coordinator & defensive line coach when Manny was DC at Mississippi State in 2010. Defensive line coach at multiple stops in college and NFL since then. Was defensive line coach for Eagles when they won the Super Bowl.
