I mean X was literally a first team All American a year ago from the slot and is being talked about as possibly a 3rd-4th round pick. Slots eat in this offense and by all accounts he is faster and taller than X and put up great numbers in his own right. 5 years to make an impact is more due to injury than talent.

Am I predicting this will happen? No. But could those things happen for him in this offense? Absolutely.

there is no way x is a 3-4th round pick after what he ran at the combine

I Agree ,Some people are always going to look for negative & Neglect the Value of a Restrepo. Pena the guy from Syracuse very similar a little bigger & Faster .
Would be God send , to mentor Toney.
 
Interesting, considering Fran was just bragging a week ago that they have Pena coming back. Yes, we lost everyone, but Pena is coming back. As much as Fran is liked, camera's and recordings eat his a** up. He said, positive things about Pena, but he just is not capable of keeping his mouth shut at times. He needs to work on that, yesterday. Your at Cuse and trying to live in Florida coach.

Pena's father didn't take too kindly to Brown's comments
 
Usually I'm a big fan of "Take the talent regardless of type and adjust the scheme to put all horses on the field".

In this instance, Pena is not a race horse worth pursuing.

Nah don't you know he's the perfect X replacement, and if we don't take him we're ******* stupid and not many difference makers at WR enter the spring portal so we need to take this kid!!

Respectfully disagree.

We lose our top 4 WRs and NFL bound TE. You have an opportunity to replace 95% of last year’s production from the slot position with the addition of Pena. Keep in mind the slot receiver is the key to Dawson’s passing game.

You then hope that JoJo can replace JG’s production and Daniels can replace Horton’s production. You can’t replace Arroyo’s length and speed, but Lofton, Bauman and others will compensate.

That’s a plausible scenario and gives Beck solid options. But, that should be the floor. Ideally, you then add a stud outside WR that can stretch a defense and the offense should be Top 10. But, there is no guaranty that outside WR becomes available in the Portal. That’s why you MUST take Pena. At a minimum, he’s an insurance policy so Beck has a serviceable group of WRs and somebody he can count on when it’s 3rd and 5.

Don’t care either way about his talent just funny to me when random fans talk **** about how much we should pay someone

Because Fran Brown is butthurt and saying 2 mill doesn’t mean that’s what someone is gonna pay him

It ain’t your payroll dude stop trying to play armchair GM
