Surgery for Mali

I won’t out my self personally.

But I know plenty about the procedure and what he’s going to go through.

I don’t think we should plan on seeing him until the playoffs. At least at 100 percent

Yay. You know about "the procedure". And you know nothing about the patient or the severity of his injury.

How about you out yourself off of this board.

There’s no blessing in disguise.

Actually there is.

If this is where his ankle was the real blessing in disguise is that this happened during practice and not the 1st quarter of the game on Saturday. It sounds like it was really a matter of time before he had to make a decision with this lingering. We saw what happened to the offense against Wake when he suddenly can't play. At least this allows the staff to prepare a gameplan without him AND allows the players to get into a mental headspace of knowing he's not gonna be there, especially players that now need to step up. Extra reps for them, more focused on their roles days before the game instead of being thrown into it. We're all treating this like some sudden and unexpected development but it sounds like it was a ticking time bomb.

I would obviously rather have him play than not play but I'd also rather him hurt himself now than in a game and it sounds like, where his ankle was at, that was a real possibility.

I was upset yesterday. Today I am excited for the opportunity for others to step up. Time for the best backfield in the country (in my opinion), to take the lead. They can do a lot to take the pressure off the receivers. Find a way to get into the playoffs with a bye.

I don’t see why this making you so angry?

I’m just adding a perspective. Science is science. I think Toney is a phenomenal athlete. I said so in my post. That’s why this is so devastating.

But his performance on the field has nothing to do with the surgery required and rehab. It’s up to medicine and science at that point. No need to get so emotional.

I don’t see him being back on the field and making a difference for the rest of the season, and that really really sucks. Playoffs? Sure. And I think we can get there without him. But this isn’t a different situation because of the person etc. it has everything to do with the procedure being done, the rehab, and the hope things go to the best possible timeline.

Nobody is angry.

Plenty of people, though, are sick of mopes such as yourself.

Thank you for adding zero perspective, though. And I never said anything about his "performance on the field". I'm talking about the severity of the injury (of which you know nothing) and Malachi's personal ability to heal and handle pain (of which you know nothing).

the procedure is done. the return to action time for this procedure (bc its done to avoid a longer recovery of booting it up and rest) is around 20-30 days. its why its done. either way, well find out in a few weeks. youre making it seem like hes never playing lol. its just false.

Except each human is different, whats their age, how they recover, the intensity and vigor they rehab, the quality of the doctors, the quality of the machines to assist in recovery etc.

The avg joe thats 20lbs overweight that goes to rehab 2x a week for 45min and then does nothing else. Doesnt have access to specialized machines, blood therapy etc. To say its going to be X amount if time is dumb. Just let it play out. Whether you believe 6 weeks or 4 or 8 makes no difference in reality.

You guys are grasping at straws saying Wingo, Jacob’s, Stafford going to step up. Take off your canes glasses. We are screwed. It doesn’t work that way. We lost practically the best player in the college. It’s over fellas, we are cooked. Mario needs to focus on the next portal QB via back channels and finalize this recruiting class. We will not even make the ACC ship i feel. You don’t just get over this and expect guys who have no production to suddenly at the crucial moments of the season make plays. The injury curse got to us this year unfortunately
Congratulations that was one of the most pathetic posts I've ever seen on here

This. We have plenty of talent as long as we don't beat ourselves with penalties and turnovers.

After reading this thread, it’s abundantly clear that some of you are absolute p.u.s.s.i.e.s. in your daily life, are c.u.c.k.e.d by your wives and were raised by your mothers.

“Seasons over”

Get on this train, or stay the **** off.

Hurricanes ride or die. 🟧🙌🟩
I know Tuesday night has you upset. It's okay. No need to lash out at everyone over that mess.

You're still going to lose on Saturday lol

Can't wait for the tears

Loop Trump GIF

Hope you’re right but since you’ve got Trump saying it, I doubt it. 😆

All kidding aside, I do hope what I was told is wrong. Great kid having a great year. Crossing my fingers he comes back at some point this season and leads us to a natty.

GO CANES!!!

So confirmed tightrope surgery. 4-6 weeks. Tua came back quick. But he’s a qb and mobility isn’t as important as it is for a slot receiver. Brock bowers came back quickly so there may be hope if the situation is comparable

Lost in all this is the dude is just fun to watch. He makes two or three plays a game that leave your jaw dropped. Going to miss that for sure.

Get the ball to Lofton. That dude is ready. Early in the first half against UNC he caught a ball over the middle and straight turned into a RB. Get him the ball in space and let him work.
He did look quick af on that catch

Logical assumption is playoffs, maybe ACC championship. Throwing out dates or offering opinions is silly. No one really knows.
