Strength Program - Excess Fat

I've already tried talking about this and no one wants to hear it, so don't even bother OP.

The "this isn't a beauty contest" argument is nonsense. I'm sure the excess weight has nothing at all to do with our highly touted freshman linebackers all taking a step back this season, and arguably the worst unit on the defense now that the secondary has improved.

Yep, nothing to do at all. You guys go ahead and keep those orange and green shades on for a while.

They'll see it when ND or VT manhandles us up front. When you can't get any push on 3rd and 1 or 2 or 2nd and Goal against Syracuse or Toledo boy oh boy wait until ND and VT get here.

Our O-line is the equalizer for other teams. I don't think people understand part of the reason our offense doesn't blow teams out is being our O-line get whipped up front when the defense knows what coming on 3rd and 1. They expect us to run trick plays on 3rd and 2 every time against teams less talented then Duke. LMFAO.

Exactly. I do however think we can beat VT (the more important game, really), but with the way we and ND have been playing, ND may just run us out of our own stadium. I'm sure I'll get negged, but that's just the **** truth. We better start playing complete games and turning FGs into touchdowns, or else it could get ugly against upper-tier teams.

I had the ND game as a lose since the off-season. IDK were everyone's confidence about beating them came from. They went 4-8 last year and we still lose to them. They had loses to Duke and Navy.. DUKE AND NAVY.. Had it not been for Kaaya catching fire, a nice OS kick call, and a couple of fumbles on special teams we would of gotten smoked. I knew they weren't going to be any worse from last year (was expecting a 8-4 team), but the way they played Georgia with all that talent and speed UGA has on offense and all the offensive struggles we have we might get blanked. I'm sure everyone wants to point to a bad FSU team as their case that they can play with anyone but but truth be told this ND team would clap FSU 35-14 this year. ND DL was one of the worse DL in football entering that game last year and they were throwing our O-lineman like tissue paper. I'll admit our O-line is a bit better (even though they get no push on short yardage plays) but ND's defense is x50 better this year and our Defense has gotten worse especially against the run which is their strength offensively. Side Note: The USC win didn't impress me because USC wasn't that good to begin with IMO. USC had like 3 unforced turnovers on special team and a missed FG and were down 28-0 before Sam Darnold even knew what hit him. Darnold went 14-19 and 2 TD.

As for the VT game.. I gotta see what the UNC game looks like. If we can't completely dominate a 1-7 team with nothing to play for, a revenge game for us with everything to play for, a team riddled with injuries EVERYWHERE, No O-line, No real playmakers, and 2 AWFUL QBs then we're going to get slapped by VT and this team would be almost no different then the 2013 team IMO.

Personally I'd like to see the entire team really focus on their biceps and calfs. If there is time, their necks/traps too.

Arms like David Boston
Calfs like N. Suh
Neck like Zach Thomas

Dead poets, nystate and chosen are some of the least knowledgeable worst posters here. The wez is a bunch of fegs. A circle jerk with 3 these as the pivot men.

Miami has more talent at the skill positions than uga and it’s not even close. Rb is where they defintiely have the edge. We have as many good players if not more on defense too

The "this isn't a beauty contest" argument is nonsense. I'm sure their conditioning (way too many mental errors too) has nothing at all to do with our highly touted freshmen linebackers all taking a step back this season, and arguably the worst unit on the defense now that the secondary has improved.

Edit: Also, before anyone mentions Syracuse and Pinckney's performance, our secondary with their turnovers and lockdown coverage won that game and there's not even a debate. Their (very talented) receivers were mostly shut down and Dungey typically had no choice but to take off, get sacked, or throw picks. DBs stepped up and won that game, it's that simple.

This dude's jumping on board and supporting a troll post by Dead Poets. LOLOL

Show us all the science behind how our bad conditioning has cost us all the missed tackles. Many of those missed tackles are very early in games, so it would be odd to see a lack of conditioning affect them in the 1st quarter.

Then, you turn around and claim our DBs won the Syracuse game. Are they conditioned by some other strength coach? Or did their conditioning not matter as they stuck to SU WRs after 95 plays in 95% humidity?

LOL at half-wit clowns associating bench press strength to getting push on the OLine.

Just shows how little these morans know about football. I’m certain our Olinemen are strong enough. Playing offensive line is much more than strength. Strength is only part of it.

Technique, leverage, positioning body and arm use, all play a huge role. But these dumbasses are so reductive, they pick the easiest thing their simple minds comprehend and go with that.

No push on OLine - more squats and bench presses- that’s the ticket!

Fūcking simpletons

Anyone with any semblance of IQ knows that the miss tackles and poor run defense is a result of not tackling as much during practice and us being undisciplined in their respective gaps.

These trolling threads get the post count up in a hurry

Lol right?

Grown men getting all worked up over absolutely nothing. Internet is serious business!

And you get worked up about people getting worked up.

My first problem here is the last line of "Need to get back on the juice." Like we never really earned the top teams we had because we had to cheat.

Second, the photos aren't really damning. You have different clothing, postures and ages. Like what athlete doesn't have a 6 pack in high school? Puberty is burning through body fat while your height shoots up AND you're burning thousands of calories on the field and in the gym.

Last, when players are attempting to increase their squat and bench weights, extra body fat is going to occur.

To the point, do these players look more gassed in the 4th this year or last?

This ain't a beauty contest... I've got no problem with it and I don't think they at any slower!

Not saying it's a beauty contest, but it's not a good look imo when these dudes were faster and ripped more in HS than at Miami.

I mean Pinckney's stomach rolls in that video I posted above were looking sloppy af lol

If we wanna win titles we have to have an elite strength program. Those early 2000s teams were built like an NFL team. It's no accident that we annihilated teams physically.

Hopefully we're just another year or two away from being on that level.

sloppy...
