Lane’s a flashy name. It’s the same people that said we needed to hire Mike Leach a few years ago.

He’s done well at Ole Miss and he had two great seasons at FAU. But he was dogshi* everywhere before that and made big mistakes almost everywhere he went.

He would be a great hire, I just think Cristobal is the better choice for us at the moment.

Is what lane kiffin did at FAU more impressive than what Franklin did at vandy?? Is what lane did at ole miss (5-5, 8-2) USC/Tenn/OAK more impressive than what Franklin has done at penn state? Did Kiffin not have Tenn resources..did he not get his dream job and fail..and your right it slipped my mind about which team didn’t let lane on the plane to fly back..it was Oak who left him at the airport lol

Obviously you don't know his tenure at USC..they were depleted by NCAA probation and had no players and hardly scholarships.

So if he's done well at the last two stops, is it safe to say that maybe he's learned from his past mistakes? What about Cristobal and FIU? He was ****** there but no one holds it against him. Lane is a different coach now just like Cristobal is a different coach now.

Agreed, he failed at USC. Should have performed better with that talent. Not sure he can be judged after one season at Tennessee. His 7-6 record is not very good if you ask me, but he did improve them from the previous season. The fans loved him. His leaving was unexpected and a little controversial. That is the reason the UT fans hate him so much.

I could care less about his time in the NFL. Saban also failed miserably. Big deal. Kiffin wasn't ready for the NFL and it was too big for him.

I didn't say that I want him to rebuild Miami. I am just exposing a lot of false myths about him. However, he would be major upgrade to our current coach and that is not a myth.

He’s revamped his career no doubt. He’s done very well at Ole Miss and did great at FAU. But he’s always been a mercenary. He’d be here for three years and would bolt somewhere else. Mario to me is a long term solution.

I don’t hate the guy lol..they lost like 30 Scillies over a 3 year period..I’m not a math wiz but that’s amounts to 10 a year..he still managed a number 2 class in 09..3rd ranked in 2010 and 11....had a 2 year bowl ban. Let’s not act like he worked through the death penalty..I know the story..funny, Franklin took over pedo state post they bs In 2011 and hit the ground running in 2014..I also know a coach at Miami who went through the same ****..he didn’t get a pass nor did he deserve one.

Take away what Franklin did at vandy..take away what kiffin did at FAU..when each were at cream of the crop jobs..whose resume is better?

Lane Kiffin has been fired from coaching three times. His departure from USC was easily the oddest of the bunch.

This is where you are mistaken also...Franklin didn't take over when pedo state went through their ****..it was bill Obrien who did it for 2 years immediately after...and he had like 8-4 seasons when they were depleted...Franklin didn't have to deal with the BS...
And he started season 1 and 2 with 7-6 seasons...worse than Bill Obrien...
Recently he had a losing record last season...and is nearly that this season...with a losing record in conference...he has had more than enough time and resources and players to be an 8-4 season average for 8 years...
