Penn State entered last season ranked No. 7 in the country, then proceeded to go 0-5, the worst start ever for a preseason top 10 team.....ever!!!!
How many Nattys does he have? Or conference championships? He didn't just get there...he has been there for 8 years.
He is 66-33 at Pedo state...so literally
8-4 record seasons...if you think that is top 10 coach...you lose all credibility man.
Don't try and make an attempt that pedo state isn't a program that doesn't put big money into their team or staff..they have big time resources and many advantages...especially in the Northeast United States.
The dude is a huge choker in big games...and that is a fact...2-10 vs top 10 teams....and then get punked by Maryland and Illinois.

I spent 18 years of my life living in PA, and 2 of those years working up by State College. You are spot on. The man has unlimited money and resources. He can choose any HS kid from PA he wants (there is a good bit of talent there) and they can recruit nationally. The fact that he has the records he has that you pointed out against actual solid competition screams that the guy is an average at best coach.

Also, PSU is very well known, more so than SEC schools, to pad their schedule with not one, but two creampuffs every year. Akron, Idaho, Buffalo, Georgia State, to name a few, to go along with the ability to play annual cellar dwellers in the big10 like Indiana, Maryland, Rutgers. I mean with a schedule like that, you should absolutely win 10+ games a year.
Let's not forget that MSU has been down other than this year, UM has been average other than this year, Purdue, NW, come on.

Lol picking the las 19 games..you could’ve done the same with jimbo at FSU at the end. Same with Jim at UofM. Same with Kelly a few years back at ND..Howd you rank a top 10 coaching list?

Which 19 games should we pick from Lane’s tenure?

His last 19 at USC, what was he 11-8? How about his last 19 conference games at a P-5 school, what is he 9-10?

Let’s remove his tenure at FAU and discuss his actual college tenure/no opinions:

1. His overall record is 48-28
2. His conference record is 29-23
3. Zero conference championships in those 6 seasons*.


*Yes, Lane was 7-2 in conference in 2010. That same year Oregon was 8-1 and Stanford was 8-1. Maybe he beats one of them in the Conference championship, maybe not.

Miami aint no easy fix... Lane runs when the going gets tough. If you want Lane then you either dont understand Miami's problems or what Lane is. Dude has no problem running after one year if there is a better situation. Right now there are multiple jobs open that are better than Miami. Miami wouldnt even be Lane's top pick this year much less every single offseason going forward.

Lol soo u really you can’t come up with 10 coaches with better resumes🙏🏾..I’m honestly perplexed by this argument 😂.. winning at FAU is held in higher regard than making vandy into a winning program?? and going 66-32 with a conference chip and 3 11 win szns in the big 10..but some would put lane kiffin over him..based on a 8-2 start in year 2 at miss

The question could also be asked why would either of them leave their current programs considering the success they’re having. Right now I think both are pipe dreams money or no. Realistically, because of the Miami tires Mario would be more likely.
