Stop ******* around. We all know Lane is the guy.

I’m sorry let me clarify that..7-6 is a ******* losing record man at a place like usc/Miami/tenn...8-5 at Miami is unacceptable..starting 3-2 is Losing bruh..those are losing records. And he was doing that at USC right after Pete..then at tenn when they were closer to being a good sec East team compared to now…this man was at 2 top 20 jobs and got unceremoniously fired twice..not to mention that **** show at OAK..the only reason his name was hot and still is comes off him being (perceived) as a good play caller and who his daddy was..and ppl want him to rebuild Miami?? ****K NO..we want a HC who failed at 2 high profile spots now?
Come on man. If you don't like or want Kiffin, just say that you don't like him. He is very arrogant and unpredictable. I don't know if he's the right guy for the job either, but there are a lot of myths about him that some people perceive as true. Some people use these myths about him to support their opinion of him

LANE KIFFIN MYTHS
1. Fired at Tennessee - FALSE
2. Losing records at schools - FALSE, except for 1 season at FAU. I agree that 7-6 is not acceptable at schools like Tennessee and USC, but its not a losing record
3. Poor Recruiter - FALSE. Others have made this claim. He recruited lights out at USC and is doing good job at Ole Miss so far.
4. Poor Play Caller - FALSE. He has had success ever where he's been as offense coordinator/play caller. Is he the GOAT? Of course not, but he's pretty good.
5. Fired at USC - TRUE
6. Failed at Tennessee - FALSE. Took over team in turmoil. Played better than previous season and had them playing tough, but he didn't fail. Left them high and dry.
6. Failed at USC - TRUE. Too much talent to not have better record there and lost some head scratchers for sure. Still had overall winning record

Mario has something good going on in Oregon, with lower expectations there, and Nike money. He might have more of a chance to realistically get to the playoffs there than the ACC. They're the dominant team now. I've heard his wife hates it there though, at least from some of the posts here, so who knows. Miami, with the right coach, has everything needed to win.
Stoops wife reportedly did not like it at Oklahoma back in 2006, but he stayed there for another decade.

Ok it's just possible both are not hits and both can do bad here. That's entirely possible people so be careful it isn't a slam dunk as people think.

I know it's pretty far-fetched, but I'd kick the tires with Urban. See if he wants to do a Saban flip (NFL back to the NCAA).

Urban is probably the one guy out there who'd have us back on track from day 1.
Where will the linebackers and cornerbacks that we don’t have magically materialize from in 2022?

Lmaoooo!!! And you want to talk bad about Lane and say corch James Franklin is a top 10 coach!!!
That is fvckin hilarious.
He has been an 8-4 coach at a big money program with everything he wants and needs....
So 8-5 at Miami is unacceptable but you say a corch is elite with 8-4 average at a place with more money and resources that Miami...and its not like he just been there a few seasons...its been friggin 8.

Lane didn't get fired from Tenn...shows what you know...
Took FAU from nothing to winning conference championships...
Saw what he did at Bama...see what he is doing at Ole Miss? And is doing it with players he didn't recruit there....And is killing it in SEC with 3 star players...

Bill Clark should be the guy. Literally took a dead program and second year back won his conference, won his conference 2 out of the last three years and the other year played in the conference championship game, 2018 Eddie Robinson coach of the year, has won everywhere he's been. He's a winner period.
Count me in. If sending lane a blank check first doesn’t work.

Lmao..he failed at tenn bruh. He took over Tenn in 2008. Tenn has never been shy about spending resources in sports especially football..2 years prior to him arriving Tenn won 10 games (07)..06 they won 9..2008 they fell off. He arrived in 2009 went 7-6..then shook for his dream job..more power to him.
At USC he failed. He went 8-5 with Pete’s leftovers..then won 10 games..he’s about to take off right? No. He didn’t recruit well. He went 7-6..then started 3-2. He got a shot at the NFL off his daddy’s name..failed miserably..And this is the guy who y’all want to rebuild Miami..**** no lol

We win immediately with Lane. I'm talking ACC Champs next year. With Mario it will take 2 or 3. I say get Lane, win now, and when he decides to leave after year 2 or 3, then get Mario. His buyout will be cheaper then anyway.
Lane is a self centered SOB who will win at all costs and fo to the NFL like JJ. Exactly what Miami needs. Send him a blank check, lets roll!

Some people just don't like Kiffin and will use false information about him to support their opinion of him. I also have my concerns about Kiffin, but he's proven to be pretty good head coach every where he went. His record at USC was 28-15 before he was fired 5 games into the 2013 season. He was 3-2 and got fired hours after losing 62-41 to Arizona State. USC expected more and rightfully so. If only we held our coaches to higher expectations.

Here's the concern with Lane Kiffin.

Lane goes to Tennessee.
He leaves Tennessee for USC after 1 season. USC is undeniably the better job.

Lane goes to Alabama to be OC.
He leaves Alabama to be HC at FAU after 3 years because HC is a better job than OC.
He leaves FAU for Ole Miss after 3 years because HC at Ole Miss is a better job than HC at FAU.
*Lane leaves Ole Miss for Miami after 2 years (presumably) because HC at Miami is a better job than HC at Ole Miss.

So here's the problem. We aren't at the top of ANY food chain. Lane has proven he's always looking for bigger and better. I can't fault him for making any of those moves. But is getting 3 years of Lane and hearing his name every time a bigger job opens up worth having to do this all over again?
Anyone who has success here is gonna be potentially gone. Its a stepping stone to the NFL. Mario would leave as well as anyone else if the ambition is right.

What real successful coach in college has stayed long at any one place?

Can u list the long names of NC winning coaches since 2014..it’s not very long btw..so You have to win a natty to be considered a top 10 coach??..bruh name 10 rn whose better and whose resume is better rn..if your name isn’t Saban..Dabo..Kirby..day or that young dude at OU..THEY All have flaws after those guys..Franklin has flaws too. But Dude has 3 11 win szns since 2014 in the big10..2nd toughest division in all of CFB. He has 1 big 10 title since 2014 (2016) ..OSU has 5 in that time span. MSU has the only other 1in that span..so if the standard is he can’t get past OSU..most can’t in the big10 ..plus 2 9 win szns in the sec at ******* Vandy
Saban
Smart
Dabo
Jimbo
Harbaugh
Day
Shaw
Riley
Ferentz
Lane
Orgeron
Kelly
Luke
Freeze

Thats 14 and I could go on

No one would want Corch Franklin over Lane...deal with it

Yes, give me the three years of winning and we'll worry about who's next when the time comes.
