Still shaking my head on why we let Horton get away...

Horton is a good player and he has another leap left in him. He works hard. There is more downfield ability than we saw last season.

I get why he was intrigued by Alabama. He’s friends with the quarterback and the other guys will command attention. We got hurt at receiver in the winter portal by not having Beck in place.

I think CJ Daniels can replace what Horton gave us last year. The tougher one to replace will be Restrepo. He was a go-to guy at the college level. We have the talent but need someone to demand the ball.
I get that it isn't this black and white and may not even be an even financial conversation. But I wonder if we would be more willing to pay that tax now that we used that money on Tony Johnson instead.

I'd have rather paid Horton whatever we are paying Marion and Johnson combined.

You’re heading into your draft eligible/money year and it’s looking like Emory Williams is going to be throwing you the ball… you just had a front row seat of him ****ing his pants in the bowl game, you just played with Cam Ward and the QB your team went all in on committed elsewhere.

Yeah I don’t like it but I see why he bounced.
Then he's an idiot if he thought Emory was gonna be the QB. By that logic I guess he figured Cam wouldn't be his QB..

Horton always seemed like he was listening to offers and it was just a matter of time. Pretty sure he was tampered with the year before as well.

That said, we just need Jojo (or someone else) take the WR1 position by the balls and crush it. That’s all that matters.

And learn our lesson that you need to have a qb in place to help sell the WRs.

Or, you develop depth and go from there. This is why I'm excited to see what Dawson does with Luke. If we can see Luke flash at some point this season, it would go a long way to setting this program up long term. We know Emory and Judd aren't the answer, need to be able to break the 1 year rental cycle, at least for a couple of years. I'm sold on Coleman as well, so it would be nice to see Miami put together a legit QB room of homegrown talent.

McCoy maybe? Or was he just being recruited by UM and then committed in January?

Bissainthe and McCoy weren't coming to Miami under Manny. I know Wes committed a couple days before Manny was officially fired. But ball was already in motion. Only Manny guys left are Smith (legacy), Williams (TRob) and Rodriguez.
