his name has been bandied about - would be huge but a tough pull from Oregon, I'm guessing.

From Louisville's website:

The architect of the top recruiting classes in school history, Stephen Field was hired as the Director of High School Relations and the NFL Liasion in 2017.

In 2018, Field assisted in bringing 22 student-athletes to Louisville, signing 19 during the initial early signing period, eight of which enrolled in January. The signing haul featured a school-best 11 four-star recruits and a pair of Under Armour All-Americans.

Field came to the Cardinals after serving one season as the tight ends and Recruiting Coordinator at Florida A&M.

As a coach, Field was highly recognized for his ability to develop talent at the high school and collegiate level, having established over 100 collegiate athletes during his coaching career, with nearly two dozen former players who are or were in the NFL, including Pittsburgh Steelers cornerback Artie Burns.

Prior to joining the staff at FAMU, Field was a highly decorated head football coach and offensive coordinator at North Marion Senior High in 2014-15.

The 2015 Florida Athletic Coaches Association (FACA) Coach of the Year, and a two-time WHOA Coach of the Year (2014, 2015), Field's teams broke seven school records offensively, averaging 40.5 points per game.

A native of West Palm Beach, Fla., Field guided his 2015 team to the Regional Quarterfinals, after an outstanding regular season, when his squad led the county in passing, rushing and scoring.

Field was selected the offensive coordinator in the 2015 Offense-Defense All-American game in Orlando, Fla., leading the team to victory on ESPN, and produced six players selected to play in the All-American game, a Marion County record.

Prior to his stint at North Marion, Field served as head coach and offensive coordinator at Miami Northwestern High (2012-14), where he restored the perennial prep power to prominence, guiding them to the playoffs and a regional appearance in his first season.

During his tenure at Northwestern, 46 football players – tops in Florida, signed collegiate football scholarships.

Field also served a three-year stretch at Hampton (Va.) University (2009-11) as running backs coach, recruiting coordinator, run game coordinator and director of operations, helping produce two of the MEAC's top running backs who ranked in the league's Top Ten in Rushing.

Before coaching at Hampton, Field did a three-year turn at Miami (2006-08) as a defensive staff assistant and special teams coach. He recruited NFL talents Travis Benjamin, Laron Byrd and Damien Berry.

Before Miami, Field, served as an assistant coach at Glades Central High School in Belle Glade, Fla., serving as the offensive run game coordinator, running backs coach and academic coach.

While at Glades Central, he coached back-to-back 1,000 yard rushers in Aston Samuels and Damien Berry. In 2006, Glades Central won the Class 3A championship.

He also spent a season at Deerfield Beach High School, where he coached 1,000 yard rusher Roderick Ferguson, and four years at Miami Central High School, where he coached the top two statistical ranking wide receivers in Dade County in 2002 in All-Big East selection Willie Foster of Rutgers and Marcus Daniels, also of Rutgers.

Field was a two-time all-state selection at Palm Beach Lakes High School, helping lead them to the only undefeated season in school history.

From there, Field went on to play tight end at Tuskegee. He later earned a degree in business management and a master's degree in liberal studies from Miami.

He was an all-state selection at Palm Beach Lakes High and leading them to their only undefeated season in school history.

Field has a daughter, Le'ah Skye Field.

He's got deep South Florida ties, he's a Palm Beach guy he used to coach at Miami for 3 years, he got us Damien Berry & Travis Benjamin.

He was also the first White HC at MNW, he coached at Glades Central, PBL & Deerfield. He's also coached at Louisville, Oregon & FAMU.

Real good dude & very good recruiter. He'e been rumored to be the main target for TE coach for a few days now, but most of the threads on that we're immediately deleted because I guess the staff doesn't want it to get out too early because Coach Field basically had just re-signed with Louiville back on Jan 5th, so it seems like Miami is trying to work something out.

He would be a huge pickup as a recruiter if we landed him.
