The grass looks dead. I hope they can get it looking more green for the season.

Fingers crossed.

That's grass man. They don't paint the dirt and let the grass grow with the paint.

I got to admit that stadium looks pretty good. We'll see what the atmosphere is like with it being half full, and sold out.

There's no grass in this picture. They would have planned to completely re-sod the field knowing the equipment they were going to put on it. In some of the pictures I've seen posted it looks like they removed the underlying soil and replaced it. Even with a sandy base that equipment would have compacted the base. I promise you the dudes who grow grass at this level know what they're doing and would have expected to completely replace the grass. With the right equipment is surprisingly easy. A month is plenty of time to get grass to root.

Plenty of time for Sod to be installed and take root. Nobody grows grass, it's always sod.

two days ago there was grass. It was under the thick layer of sand/dirt (with plastic between the grass and dirt). You could see the dolphin endzone pattern when they pulled that plastic. It was dead/dormant, whatever. Perhaps in the past day or two they ripped it out in anticipation of fresh sod.

When does the new artificial turf get laid down?

They're making sure they are getting the correct prescription this coming week. After the checkup, if the prescription is correct, then they will lay it down over the weekend. If it is incorrect then they have to take a bunch of tests to see which prescription is the correct on.

Gotta say, when that thing is done it will surprise a lot of people. That material they are putting on top looks to be very sound reflective. I think we'll love this stadium now.

I get that we are Miami and all, but I don't like the idea of having so much sand on the field.
