It's easy to get caught up with what we see in the spring, and it's completely fair (and fun!) to peacock and critique what we see, but just a reminder that the fall roster will certainly have a different look. While only a couple of the incoming summer freshmen kids will have an impact, what we see on the field/sideline, assuming we are healthy (please, sweet, tiny, swaddled baby Jesus), could be a remarkable +25~ availability variance from spring. Which also means to make room, it's likely that a few more dudes are going to need to be told they don't have a football future here.
I'm too lazy to count who has been out for the majority of the spring, but estimating its ten guys, and taking a swing at the portal signees, we could be adding:
10 injured players back (estimated)
9 true freshman signees reporting for summer I and II (confirmed)
6 portal additions reporting for summer I and II (estimated)
That's ~25 guys that we don't have on Greentree practicing right now.
I'm really interested to hear/see where we are when fall camp starts.
