I saw someone wearing a padded helmet and 4 sweatbands, so yea. Definitely.@DMoney Any of them practice jerseys “swagged out?”
Nahhhh our backups cant be relied on to win us games like everybody else, fire Mario12-16 71 yards no touchdowns one interception. That’s about what you’re going to get from a backup quarterback.
There’s a handful of teams who might experience little to no drop off in production if their starting quarterback got hurt. There’s other 98% of them will struggle
Im not bein a dixk but i reallly wanna know the answer to this question.. from my pov i dont see how you could get much team work in with Emory or Judd. Kinda hard to coach when things just arent looking right ad u cant get the right looks. Has us pretty much not having a serviceable QB affected spring this year??I’ve been able to get out there. What does everyone want to know?
I'm not gonna get into back and forth. CAuse I don't disagree about how anything has looked this far. But I would maybe specify a few things. #1 neither of those position groups are set. #2 as @Coach Macho would understand the day in and day out of spring practice in general, let alone installing a new defense isn't about trying to knock out your teammates. It's about ironing out any kinks and working on familiarity with each other and the system. So while I'd agree that hasn't been shown at this point I think all of us know because of what's been shown last year Bobby tries to tear a head off when he hits. Same with Hayes.Dmoney and coach macho said they haven’t seen it. Those guys may have it but you got to do it. None of them showed it last year either. And it’s been said the lbs haven’t looked good
Just want to be clear...I think actually both D$ and Macho have said something similar but different lol. I took the post you are responding to in the context of what those guys said and it wasnt that we "lacked physicality", it was we dont have a tone setter or true leader on defense that will rally the troops. I can see where saying we dont have a tone setter on defense can be lost in the game of telephone where it is then said we arent physical.
Perhaps Bobby or Hayes or Popo see red once those lights turn on, thats not saying they arent physical just not in the mold of some of our head hunters that were ALSO the leaders of the defense. I think the latter is fair because game 1 I am interested to see who is the on-field defensive captain, maybe he is on the team maybe its a portal MLB, who knows.
Yeah you're right.I'm not gonna get into back and forth. CAuse I don't disagree about how anything has looked this far. #3 You guys can't have everything your way. When people were telling y'all last season where our holes were while others boosted up Greentree performances, y'all just turned around and took issue with all the reports that didn't appear to be accurate at the end of the day. I also don't know how much of practice everyone is actually watching. Practice is practice at the end of the day. Were a long way from where we used to be where heads were getting tore off regularly. But maybe in practice since we don't have the depth we all want that's for the best. Again not question macho or d$. Just offering a different take.
This may be true but also this era is a different type of college athlete. A lot of kids off the field have many other interests and are happy go lucky with laid back demeanors. We have dudes that paint their nails but will give you 150 and 2 TD’s every Saturday. Kids can be laid back but still be elite.Just want to be clear...
I said we lacked a tone-setter and intimidator... not that we lacked physicality.
I'm not saying that we're soft and we'll get steamrolled... but I haven't seen anybody that has showed me that they will slap their opponent in the mouth and then bang their mother in front of them.
Maybe I'm wrong. I'm a defensive guy though, particularly a Linebacker guy. And the practices I've been to, the "action" from the defensive side during scrimmage periods was pretty tame (to me).
Wasn't a lot of pad clackin' or **** talkin' going on.
Iconic scene for sure, but its aight. Now : Eight Men Out and Midnight In The Garden Of Good And Evil and War Inc. and Identity I will allow to be brought to the table to discussBro: say anything
I’m not sure. But I wouldn’t think it would affect the defense that much. It would be just like facing a opponent with a terrible qbIm not bein a dixk but i reallly wanna know the answer to this question.. from my pov i dont see how you could get much team work in with Emory or Judd. Kinda hard to coach when things just arent looking right ad u cant get the right looks. Has us pretty much not having a serviceable QB affected spring this year??

I think Saban is completely wrong about Gunnar if this quote is after the SEC championship game. Gunnar was asked to do next to nothing, and far less than Emory against Clemson."They [Georgia] looked like they showed confidence in the kid by the way they played. They weren't trying to protect him in the second half of the game." Said Saban.
**** you never hear with Emory playing
Isn't Bobby out for season with torn ACL?I'm not gonna get into back and forth. CAuse I don't disagree about how anything has looked this far. Funny you mention that game, it was on few weeks ago on SEC network.Carson Beck was 7/13 for 56 yards in the same amount of time? Only 3 points when Beck was in the game in the entire first half
"The players believe in Gunner (Stockton). They love Gunner. The juice that he brought and the passion and energy," said Georgia head coach Kirby Smart on Stockton after the game.I think Saban is completely wrong about Gunnar if this quote is after the SEC championship game. Gunnar was asked to do next to nothing, and far less than Emory against Clemson.
Neither QB played a game from which much can be discerned.
