South Florida '17- The LBs

Wish we could take more Lbs in this class. But Wilder, Houston and Diego would be must haves for South Florida LBs. Plus the kid from IMG. Hopefully we take 4 but DBs/ DL is a bigger need to the coaching staff IMO.
How many do you see us taking and who are the must haves in your opinion @DMoney / @Geo

Two is the number I heard but I'd like three. Mike Smith and/or Jamie Gordinier could grow into ends in this defense.

3 and a hybrid like F'agan?

I don't think they would get much PT at DE we are recruiting some beast at that position...

Don't see how you limit it to 2 with this many talented kids who seem to be interested. Take 3 monsters and then only go after the super elite kids in 2018 (5 star types or high 4 star kids from our core HS group).

Textbook tackles. Backs/ receivers go sideways and not forward..Send the Limo to sign him up....We need a ***ot on this team.

Maybe they are just telling recruits 2 as of now to make the spots sound more exclusive?

But after transfers, injuries, next seasons results, ect. we could prob end up with 3 or 4 by next Feb

Also, what if some of these kids become grade casualties, or maybe don't perform as well their senior year and we cool on them.. Better to recruit as many LBs as possible now and figure out the official takes/numbers later

F-agot is a take simply as STs filler for a year or 2. Guys like that who have great size/speed/ability ratios but are very raw make for excellent ST guys (coverage untis).

Watching Wilder's video, I thought he was good no doubt but the biggest things sticking in my mind from that Video is Travis Homer.. He could start right away he is a man.. Ridiculous combination of speed and strength.

Since done posted this..Roger Harriott probably sent three coaching assistants to Diego fegot home for sta. That kid looks legit..but he plays probably the worst comp I'm s.fla. bUT he seems technical and refined...good coaching going on over there. Their qb just transferred to deerfield.

He thought about coming to STA last year. I definitely wouldn't be surprised to see him transfer to STA this year.

Me and DMoney were discussing about him yesterday. I came across him a few weeks ago and I was very impressed. Blustein told me this kid really showed out at the FL Fire tryouts. Said he can run and cover with the best.

As you mentioned. My only concern is the competition but this kid can run, hit, cover and diagnose very well.

I have him in my top 50 for Dade/Broward prospects in 2017.

My top two are Wilder and Steed but F'agot I have pending on change of competition and how he looks if he comes to STA.

Me & DMoney have come to agreement that we would like F'agan as a take at Safety. If he blows up in weight room, he gives option down the line for OLB.

I feel the same way. Too many talented LBs available to us to just take two.

1. Steed
2. Wilder
3. Miller or Houston

Kid from Calvary Christian is a SAVAGE!!! I've heard his name before in the Herald but like many people, I haven't paid much attention to the non-FHSAA schools. Big, aggressive, violent, athletic, and very cerebral. He's a savant in pursuit, as he takes precise angles to the ballcarrier. I don't know if I'd take him over the cats that play against top-level competition but if certain factors come in to play, like ***an coming in as a SS and Gordinier, King, and McCray transferring out, I'd definitely take a flier on that kid.

Diego ***ot's little sister is my oldest daughter's best friend. The family is very religious, and he is a great kid. I had no idea he was that good because he is very low key. I will get the scoop.

Richt, time to preach.

My take.

I know Pete has heard 2 as of now but considering the lack of enough quality guys at LB, possible transfers.(I have about 3-4 that I don't think are quality on roster) Also the surplus of quality LBs this year in tri-county.....

Ideal would be more of something like 3, with maybe a potential 4th. F'agan I like at Safety.

Give me Wilder and Steed.

We need a MLB so give me one of F'agot or Miller. If F'agot makes the move to STA and a smooth transition to the competition, that's my 3rd take.

If we take one more as a 4th(may be pushing it or not) anyone out of Miller, Kearney or Houston IV I'm fine with. Brandon James a sleeper pick to throw in discussion IMO but need to see more of him.
