Alex Collins
Sony Michel

Sleuths, find the common thread between the two and you have your answer.

Sony's living with Gatewood? WTF!

they have the same trainer and he's pushing them to the SEC for $$$$...

Wow. :ohlord: not sure if serious? If you want to put "blame" on anyone put it on Alexs high school coach. Gatewood had more influence on this than ANYONE. Lol Alex lied to his mom and blood fam about which college he was choosing, what dies that tell you Gatewood and his wife are good friends with a coach up there. Honestly, I have no problem with a trainer helping a kid out with the recruiting process and giving them suggestions as to where they should go to ms amiss and display their talents. As long as te trainer isn't getting paid just to push a kid somewhere. This can be a multi million dollar and college BA decision for these kids, or a decision that sees them have to transfer and go back to the hood and HOPE for another opportunity to pay ball again. That's what is sold. I've seen FIRSTHAND a couple of kids told by a guy who trains kids, played in the league(NFL and Arena when it still.....) and knows what it takes to get there that going to UM might not be the best choice.

And Arkansas and Georgia are? Please.

Thats BS. If you watched the draft last year and heard Irvin talking. Irvin said the NFL guys love Golden and the way he prepares players for the league.

Ok. Are you talking about SCOUTS/Crosscheckers or PLAYERS? And did he say ALL of them?

anyone know how speed zone recruits keeps their doors open being non-profit?

valid question... possibly "donations" anyone non-profit can be given donations for their organization, they cannot pay employees with it

but if it happens to be exchanging hands "under the table" thats a diff story

OK

Goergia has how many backs in the NFL? Thought so.

you can have employees on salary ie church pastor, just wondering how and where donations come from

Are you thinking they come from schools or coaches? Is there a modest fee recruits pay for the services? I guess they could also do some fundraising... maybe throw a party have someone come to said party (celebrity, athlete makes an appearance) and a fee to get in. Could have deal with some local business where a certain percentage of profits during a given time period get kicked back to the non profit.

One conclusion I got out of this ridiculous, nonsense loaded, insane thread is that if anyone has a meltdown tomorrow when Sony announces to UGA, should see a psychologist.
After all this the rational reaction should be: NEXT!

I actually can't wait to see the meltdown!!! Bring that ****!

You can charge fees (just like Salvation Army thrift store or Girl Scout cookies), just can't distribute profits to investors. Everything must be plowed back into the business.

So is the fact they are visiting him a good or bad sign?

Or neither?

It could mean a bunch of things...

A. They were informed that he isn't coming and the staff is trying to change his mind.

B. They are confirming information they already knew/had in person.

C. They are unsure what is going on and the staff is giving it one more chance.

D. The staff wants to meet with the family, coach and Sony to discuss the future. Let him know how important he is to the team.

I don't know or have a clue. I know one thing, this recruitment isn't over tomorrow anyway, every school is still going to recruit him. The only thing that can change tomorrow is he commits to the local school and is celebrated by the locals OR he can commit OOS and be harassed.

The choice is yours.

Technically there are no investors (or owners)... any 'investor' would be considered a donor. But yes I agree anything they collect above and beyond the organizations expenses is required to go into the cause the organization supports.

Would be interesting to see a financial report though. I don't believe they are public though, no? Probably just to donors, bank (if needed), irs/govt? Would be interesting what % of revenue goes towards expenses and how much goes towards the cause (the athletes).

Anyway - I don't think Yearby is that far behind Sony so I'm thrilled we already have him on board but I will definately be disappointed if we don't get Sony considering how long we've been talking about this kid. I know it's not officially over for another 9-10 months but still... tough to not get frustrated with recruiting when the kid claims to be a huge miami fan, local area, pressure to stay home, position of need, best OL class in the country for him to run behind and on and on and on and he still MIGHT leave town. Not that recruiting makes sense... but it just doens't make ******* sense!

I guess on the bright side... if he doesn't come here, at least he won't be in Gville or Tally.

We are always saying the U Family, well in this case Sony is literally putting his family first and being his brothers keeper by going with UGA. Remember this is a game that giveth great memories and it taketh away leaving heart ache. So everyone pick a happy hour spot for tommorrow afternoon an toast to family first, then wish the Michel brothers well at UGA.

Go Canes!

He has to know that the local pressure is going to be ridiculous if he picks UGA right?

Why make the announcement this early if he wants to get out?
