Something positive- Our RB Duo

If you were a receiver you would get tired of running open and the ball going 8 feet over your head. They not giving the same effort for sure. I can't say I can blame them.

RB room not a great concern. Hoping Lo is back at mach speed next year.

#s are impressive this year behind our JV line.

RB's have been great this year, especially given the situation on Offense. Both these guys will be playing on Sundays.

Homer and DJ are both good receivers as well. They have 17 catches combined in 9 games.

Arrow/Texas and wheel routes should be deadly with those guys.

So, the defense AND run game are legit?

There goes the theory that running the ball well and playing good defense are the keys to winning games.
In all our losses the run game struggled in one way or another. Either effectiveness or fumbles(last week). Duke the run game was solid. But TOS Killed us. Virginia we couldn’t run. Boston college couldn’t. And LSU we didn’t

Just another reason why the "we lack talent" arguments being thrown around are so monumentally stupid.

These two could've gone anywhere as recruits.

They do. We are either boom or bust in the running game. We haven’t been able to consistently get 5-6 yards a carry when we need to.
My numbers may be slightly off but here is what I got comparing Dallas and Homer to D. Harris and N. Harris of Alabama. I didn't count carries of 0-3 yards that resulted in a TD.

  • Dallas: 43% of carries 0-3 yards, 10% of carries negative yards
  • Homer: 44% of carries 0-3 yards, 7% of carries negative yards
  • D. Harris: 36% of carries 0-3 yards, 6% of carries negative yards
  • N. Harris: 19% of carries 0-3 yards, 11% of carries negative yards

Dallas is a premium talent and he's just scratching the surface of what he could be.

I like Cam Davis a lot too.

There's not much to be happy about right now, but I don't think enough attention is being paid to our RB duo. They are championship-caliber talents with big-play ability and toughness.

I compared them to the best three duos in the nation, and they are right there. It is even more impressive when you consider the massive differences in terms of OL quality and passing game support:

Najee Harris/Damien Harris (Alabama)- 1,114 yards, 6.5 ypc
Elijah Holyfield/DeAndre Swift (Georgia)- 1,296 yards, 6.4 ypc
Travis Homer/DeeJay Dallas (Miami)- 1,249 yards, 5.9 ypc
J.K. Dobbins/Mike Weber (OSU)- 1,291 yards, 5.2 ypc

Imagine what these guys could do in an effective offense.

Damnit, DMoney. I don't know if this just depresses me more or makes me feel better. And this is with teams knowing that we have a dog&hit OL and a non-existent passing game.

Sure, we are not in the same stratosphere as Clemson and Bama, but we have enough talent on our roster to be 8-1 right now. Absolutely no excuses for us to be in the position we are in now, and the 'lack of talent' or 'young guys are not ready' line is insulting. Yeah, guys are not ready for Bama at this point, but you mean to tell me Richt you can't beat UVA with what you have already?

The guy honestly cannot win unless he has a ridiculously stacked roster and even then he ends up losing to inferior teams.

I went into this season with the goal of laughing in the faces of UGA fans, but now can only shake my head and say that they were right...

Don't get me wrong I like these RBs, but the problem with these statistics take out the eye ball test or the situational issue.

Our run game is very inconsistent, and it's not their fault, but how many times have we been in 3rd and 7 because we ran twice and got 3 yards.

The YPC is up because they spring one of two big runs in a game. A good run game is a consistent run game, and I just don't see it.

Exactly let some of these negative nancys tell it the whole team sucks!! We are an oline and Qb away from the CFP. Oh and Punter too

How about toss in an Offensive Coordinator, an OL coach and a ST coach while you're at it?

Just don’t get any sweat or moisture of any kind on the ball before you give it to Dallas.
