Someone Who Knows Things

It’s Dawson’s job to coach him Emory up to the point where he can at least throw a forward pass
Even the best QB coach can only do so much with a kid with limited physical ability. Which begs the question that’s been asked a gazillion times why are they depending on Emery to be the backup? Hopefully, Nickel is the real deal.

You’re just moving the goalposts now and I’m not into it

Emory sucks. Our QB recruiting has sucked (until Nickel and Coleman)

There’s no real need to try and talk about Dawson when it comes to Emory producing on the field imo

Isn’t it a little bit of everything?

Recruiting, development and playcalling/scheme…

Whatever it is it needs to be better

Dawson is the OC and the QB coach and in Miami has yet to produce a competent quarterback from the high school level but don’t worry we’ll be back in a portal again next year for QB

Dawson ain’t all that that CIS makes them out to be

You know the drill

When you go from a tragic program in 2022 to one that just missed the playoffs in 2024 in crushing fashion you’ve got plenty of ammo behind whatever POV you’ve got

Thanks for the groundbreaking POV

It's obviously recruiting because we have Emory and Judd, but also brought in Ward and Beck. It's obviously development because look how good TVD and Jacurri did when they left, and we had to look to the portal. It's obviously playcalling/scheme because look how Cam improved while also changing plays he didn't like.

Or it's a little bit of everything.

I had lunch Friday with someone who knows things. We have been having this same lunch since 2004. He’s been at practices since 1997. Here’s what he had to say:

DL is lights out. Particularly mentioned Bain, Mesidor and Justin Scott. Scott — “day one potential.” Best DL since 2017 easily.

Ward. Best pure thrower we have ever had. Exact quote. No comment on the other QBs.

Loved OL, coaches have been on Carpenter’s *** every practice. Deep and talented. Some concern about RT depth.

Couldn’t say enough about Trader. Smooth smooth smooth. Ny Carr “steal of the class”.

Worries about Safety position.

Arroyo running better than he ever has at Miami. Easy day 2 pick.

Martinez pushing around LBs. Second Level problem.

Brown and Porter are “good not great”. Believes that’s all they have to be with our DL.

“better team than 2017” with “best young talent since 2005”
Any more lunches coming up?

We have enough. Markel Bell is a bonafide 1st rounder, Francis is going top 5, and Anez is a day 2 pick. JoJo has just as much talent as R Williams, J Smith, Wingo, etc and will have a big year. Fletcher has the talent to be similar to Etienne. CJ is better than Lovett and will be an early day 3 guy:rolleyes:

"...Common sense says that either (1) he got a lot better; or (2) the team around him got a lot better. I think it’s the second one..."
Cam, in military terms, is a force multiplier. Miami's OL is the force enabler.

He's a platform/capability, that when added to others, all become a greater sum than individually. Broken apart though, still good, but not great.

Put Cam at FSU last season, likely not a RDIPI selection.

Why? Because their pieces were worse than Miami's pieces.

Put him at Bama/UGA/Taint last season, he runs away with the Heisman by mid season and undisputed RDIPI pick that every show talks about non-stop.

Why? Because their pieces were better than Miami's pieces.

We will find out I hedge more towards your opinion

If Cam decided on FSU over Miami, is he 1.1 in the draft?

Absolutely ******* not.

It was a perfect marriage. Miami needed Cam. And Cam needed Miami. Namely the OL and coaching, but it was a perfect union.
I say yes because if u ask me if he decided to enter the draft after wazzu he is a first rounder…Maybe not #1 pick but for sure a 1st rounder in my eyes..Especially if players like jaxson dart are going 1st round lol

Put cam on osu last year and that osu team would be considered one of the greatest teams ever…glad it didn’t happen lol

TrumpyCane wants to know what CIS makes him out to be?

TrumpyCane seen post where it said he’s amazing, and I’ve seen post like yours where you say he’s ****

Which one is it?

Jesus lol

The lengths people go to crap on Miami is wild

Now Cam Ward was changing 90% of the place called in

TrumpyCane also heard he adjusted the run scheme as well and decided what the offense woukd eat for dinner every night
