Some tidbits

We can put Tyrique and Blades in Round 1/Round 2 and ELJr still not coming. This one was done the moment Saban offered. Doesn't matter though because there's plenty of top level caliber CBs that are gettable for Miami. We need to close on TMullen, JSpells, RTurner and leave the door open for the likes of ***an/ELJr/kid from Sip, i forget his name

Little will do what he's going to do.

We finally have a staff that knows how to recruit. We shouldn't lose many battles due to lack of trying and personality going forward. If a kid chooses another program, it will either be bags or win/loss or personal reasons driving a need to leave town. We'll still lose kids. But the hit ratio will be higher. 2021 class should be our expectation every year.
I will disagree only slightly with your comment. I tend to think with the staff we have now, solidified, 2021 should be the lowest recruiting we should see going forward. It was a great class, but I feel they are about to get better!!!

This is the exactly right. Everyone thinks now since we hired TRob our class has to be Little, Fegans, Rodgers and Spells and anything less is a failure. While we should obviously strive for that, posters need to realize that’s an elite class even by Bama/OSU/LSU standards. If we land a class of Spells, 1 or 2 out of Mullen, Turner or Cam Miller and 1 out of Little/Fegans/Rodgers thats as an elite class as we’ve had here in a long time at CB. Even missing out on the latter 3 but getting 3 out of first 4 would be the best CB class we’ve had since Manny’s been here.

We can’t talk about that here. Only at UM are we supposed to turn 3 stars into day one picks cause some guy named Butch did it 20 years ago.
Also, every once in a while some program strikes gold with some underrated player and we’re supposed to recruit an entire team like that.
100% agree

everyone who knows recruiting here has said DVD is legit. just bc he wasn't on field didn't mean he wasn't making a huge impact in recruiting. **** grow as a coach under T-Rob but hes already a **** good recruiter.

Nathanial wiggins said DVD was the dude who was recruiting him not rumph and would've came here if knew T-Rob was the DB coach. the two of them will be a force imo.

• Earl Little Jr said on Canesvilles interview he wants to stay close to home. Earl Sr said he wants to see him developed..... Yeah we know what that's pretty much leading to.(that episode will be dropping soon).

Trob and DVD has been on Earl Jr for awhile. They talk to him all the time. Just want communication with Manny to pick up because all the other schools HEAD coaches talks to him.

• Kam Kinchens Dad entered the comments and said: Banda did a great job recruiting Kam, watched film with him every week BUT Kam chose us because of DVD. DVD was the reason we even offered Kam in the first place.

Also said Aristide is a BEAST recruiter. They booked a visit to Texas A&M in the middle of Covid ALL because of Aristide but didn't go because of the protest about racism that broke out on campus.

All in All.... We got some DOGS on the recruiting trail.

^^

I hear the sound of slurpers tryna think about hot to swallow this.

Optics wise we have to keep recruiting Earl Jr but his dad is clearly frontrunning for Bama here with the "development" tip of the hand, but even with all the first round allure Bama has right now its gotta be tough living in Tuscaloosa for 3-4 years but oh well we all know the deal here.

He can try that excuse but it won't land IMO.

The truth is respectable... One good position coach doesn't outweigh Bama having the better program, conference, facilities/training, coaching staff, title opportunities, draft record, etc.

I agree. look im fine if he goes to bama. its a better program right now and has been since saban took over in 07. its not exactly noteworthy that a kid will consider and may/likely choose that program over Miami (legacy or not and I don't think that **** matters as much anymore personally). we have to produce results. cant have a few good seasons in 20 years (we've had 3 9 wins seasons and 1 10 win season since Coker got fired).

what I will say is that Miami (this is from some of the national recruiting insiders) kinda got a better idea on which kid is gone and which are worth battling for. example: ivins (who for the ones that don't like him is off the Miami beat as hes more national now) said that jacory brooks was a kid Miami knew wasn't coming and didn't bother much there. is it wrong if that is true? maybe or maybe not, but I think you have to spend your resources where you have a legitimate chance. we cant just throw our resources for a long shot and circle back later on other dudes who got turned off. time isnt unlimited and you have to be smart about where your best chances are. if little is a kid that isnt high on our board or is known amongst insiders to be an SEC lock/Bama lock, then move on and focus elsewhere bc you can still have a great kids getting the other highly rated kids/talents in the 22 cycle.

This is some top level, elite BS. Not that it's not true, but that it's just a groundwork laying excuse for when he goes elsewhere.

I bet if Manny hit them up every week, they'd complain that he was hitting them up too much.

This recruitment reeks. It reminds me of those early 2000 rap feuds.
It’s too bad we have to wonder about this.

I agree with this. But it sounds like T Rob and DVD are spending time on Little.

you do know some kids aren't coming no matter what and its widely known around the circles whether or not you agree right? use your time and resources wisely.
Sure. Except why would t rob amd dvd be spending time on him if he’s written off? And why wouldn’t manny spend time on him if we haven’t written him off?

thats fine. I don't really care if they spend 0 time or a ton of time. I just want them to land kids that can play here and not be left looking like fools at the end of the cycle (cough cough the one glaring weakness in our 21 class). were likely taking maybe 18 HSers this coming cycle. use them wisely. Cody brown will end up taking the 22 RB spot

I 100% agree. But don’t be afraid to go for it. It’s not about ego, it’s about using our limited resources effectively.
