Some thoughts on the Louisville loss

I think on a pure talent stand point they are close. Image ahmmon in last year's offense. In this offense he would kill.
Yeah idk if I’d say MT is better than AR - Kaaya was pretty dang good AR freshman year but idk if he’s “better” than CB.

Thing about it is that MT is a whole year younger than AR - that’s what’s crazy

I have to disagree.
Head to head has to mean something, and they beat us at home.

ND is going to top out at 6 or 7, which is where the highest ranked, 2-loss, non con cg teams landed last year. Miami will be back in the top-5.
Beating a #5 on the road tops a #6/7 at home.

I'm not an over-reaction guy.
This opinion isn't based on how we lost on Friday, It's who we lost to on Friday.
We'd go nuts if your scenario was reversed.

With that being said, UVA can easily go 3-2 the rest of the way...a trip out to Cal, Dook, even VT can pull one out of their *** in that rivalry game.
No one's a lock in the ACCCG right now.
****, watch us get there some how.
UL has zero shot catching Miami if they don't lose a game

Get more athletes on the field , no reason for moore to be riding the pine after what he did against usf (unless he is hurt) . Idc if jojo in the doghouse, get your athletes on the field. You mean to tell me we can’t go 4 or 5 wide with some of our WRs. Ray Ray is fast asf but on the pine. We can’t get him and Toney on the field in the slots on a 4 wide wr set? Run game is predictable. Have we thrown a rb screen all year? Why not run a draw on the play beck through his last pic? They knew we were passing. Dawson needs to open it up and rio and Maribel need to clean up the pre snap penalties false starts asap!
We have no athletes except Lyle and Toney. Lyle to me when he got rolled up in the ND game, he seemed like he had a high ankle sprain. Those linger all season. So the only one is Toney. There’s no speed on this team lol.

Edit: Uploaded when Lyle got rolled in the first quarter with 8:52 min into the game.

Dmoney referenced that the crowd at the beginning of the game was at best lackadaisical. This image was taken at 7:17. Where are the students? Look at the corners in the upper deck. It's no excuse for the players to come out flat however an engaged crowd does help does it not?

I think we will see a lighter crowd coming Saturday night due to a combination of it being Stanford and these kids/students and regular fans for that matter going to Halloween party's etc.

I get that we live in South Florida but 3 other Top 10 teams hosted games last week and they were filled to the brim including the image below of Indiana hosting Mich. State.

The crowd this weekend will be under 40,000 I’d bet. The crowd was terrible last week which was frustrating. At kickoff I legit don’t think more than 150 students were in the student section. No joke. We are the section over from them and I could have counted them if I wanted to.

kickoff for a 7 pm game on a friday night is going to be tough with the traffic. it filled in towards the end of the game though. this was a nice crowd eventually.

Every single game left could be a dogfight. Legit nervous about Stanford.

Same old ****.

The Blue print is out. Again.

People on here saying we'd stomp UL, lol.

Historically bad FSU almost WON even after 3 quarters of a BEATING.

TVB is TVB.

We have a 2 play run game and are a plodding penalty factory.

You should be VERY worried about SMU, Pitt, NCST, concerned about Ol' Fran & Syracuse, and even VT.

Once again, we literally don't control our own destiny in the ACC, lol - per tradition.

I can't believe people are legit still talking playoff appearance right now.

40k seems extreme but agree it won’t be good. You can get endzone club level seats for $40 on SeatGeek.

You can't compare UM to Indiana by any measure, or any of those other schools. It's Friday night in a metropolitan area. It took me nearly 2 hours to get to the stadium for what is 35 or 40 minutes on a Saturday. It was going to be a late arriving crowd, with people still filing in throughout the first half.

You’ll be called soft and a mope, despite everything in our history telling us this is who/what we are. 🤷🏾‍♂️

Good teams find a way to get it done, so this isn't an excuse, but I'm thinking Louisville might just have a really, really good run defense.

I'm interested to see how this looks against Stanford and obviously more importantly SMU. I'm not saying we have some electric run game right now by any means, but it was serviceable enough against ND and UiF to run a decent offense, we smashed USF on the ground, and I think FSU just completely sold out to stop it.

But Louisville has really crushed every team they've played so far on the ground. UVA has a good run game, coming into the Louisville game they had gotten at least 160+ on every FBS team they played, including over 200 on FSU, Stanford, and NC State. Louisville held them to 88 yards on 2.75 a clip.

We need to be better, without a doubt. And again, I'm not saying we should all be singing rainbows and lollipops after what we saw Friday night....that was the worst the run game has looked in Dawson's 3 seasons, bar none. But I'm hoping the truth lies somewhere in the middle. We obviously don't have a safety net, so if we run the ball like **** and lose in Dallas, then we're done here. But before I go completely off the deep end and declare the run game completely comatose, I'd like to see what happens against SMU. I'm watching the game back, and Louisville really played the fits completely perfectly and we got way less push than usual. Will SMU be able to do the same? I have my doubts, but we have to see it.

Been around long enough to take it. I am a mope. Still am. Not proud of it. Don't have an agenda. Want to be wrong, but I see what I see. I memba.

I can be honest about what I see when things start going wrong.

I will not accept that talent wise UL had a run defense that could stop this OL and RB room. That is supposed to be our calling card. If Taint or UGA had stopped our running game, I’d be mad but fine but not UL.

Right. You have to be one of Pat Healy's special kids to think otherwise.

There's 2-3 more losses coming. Zero chance of making the playoffs.
This is very possible but we have a much better chance than zero to make the playoff. Yes we have issues but we will have a significant talent advantage over every team we play.

"Rolled up" is a very interesting take on Lyle given his absence 👀

Lyle played against Louisville. Did nothing.

I hear you. I definitely do not think it bodes well for any long-term outlook. Just pointing out what I see. They’ve been very good in every game this year. Again, not an excuse. If you’re gonna win a championship, you have to beat teams even at what they’re good against. Just saying I’m not quite ready to kill Mirabal and fire Mario and tell Dawson to run the triple option. Let’s just right this ship for now over the next 3 weeks and see how things go. I still expect this team to be in the playoffs.
