Some quick scrimmage notes

You forget about all the 2021 hype? “Most experienced offensive line”etc. didn’t mean anything. Don’t want to see Ragone getting snaps over Popo just because of how many games he’s played.
Exactly. I don't care if any of the four redshirt. No one on that list, outside of Mauigoa at WSU, has proven anything. If these four freshman are better than our other backers, I want to see them on the field. Although Wes struggled at times last year as a true freshman, I enjoyed watching him close on plays and watching him tackle. He had that "pop" we haven't seen in a few years.

Hey yo! Hit the button

It means the top 10 or so programs can all match incentives and another handful can reach up to compete on any given recruit. So it’s going to come down to where the recruit and his circle really want to go and they’re being professionally advised now by real agents on keeping that info close to the vest to maximize their payout. Very much like NFL free agency.
So we’re getting our *** kicked.

They should all redshirt if possible.

K. Smith SR - 38 games played
R. Shelton SR - 36 games played

I see one proven LB from your list - Mauigoa. Pulliam and Aguirre have excellent chances to play some meaningful snaps this year.

1000000000000000000% AGREE! Ragone should just dress out in sneakers for the rest of his time here. An indictment of the garbage LB recruiting and development by Manny Diaz. Our LB room is starting to look like a P5 LB room. Go Canes!

@DMoney Couple things!!

- Did arroyo/Messidor participate in this one?
- any injuries from the scrimmage ?
- do you think our O-Line is stronger in pass block or run block ?
Arroyo and another TE were working w a trainer on rehab testing their movements lightly away from the action when I saw them.

Fun with Math

Assuming we complete about the same number of passes from last season- that's about 260 completions.

Here was the distribution

WR about 160 catches
TE about 60 catches
RB about 40 catches

You might expect something like this for 2023 with injuries tipping the scales one way or the other for the WR group

Restrepo 40
Young 40
George 26
Harrell 15
B Smith 12
Ladson 10
Joseph 10
Redding 10
Horton 5
That's fine if you believe the offense will throw at the same rate this year as they did last year and the overall team completion percentage will be similar. That's unlikely though as not only does Shannon Dawson throw at a higher rate than Josh Gattis, a healthy Tyler Van Dyke also completes passes at a much higher rate than Jake Garcia and Jacurri Brown did last year. I'd put our completion number closer to 300.

Would like to hear about:

Horton WR
HORTON DT
Moten
JUCO WR (forgetting name)
Stafford (DB/ Return specialist)

Who are the likely return guys for KR/ PR?

Does Borregales look better then last year?
Borregales kicked several good consistently from 40+ practicing including at least one from 55+ that I saw.

67 guys did it last year across college football. None of them averaged even 19 ypc.

Predicting a UM WR -- who is maybe WR4 on the depth chart -- with 22 career catches through 5 injury-riddled seasons to have a 60+ catch, 20+ ypc season while Mario Cristobal is the HC is crazy bananas.
Nonsense. We all know CIS posters have the most level-headed, logically thought out takes in CFB.

Parrish has some moves. Chaney looking like the Chaney we thought he could be. Also noticed the catches by CY and Ray Ray. TVD has weapons and can sling it. Should be a really fun offense, like Lashlee's + we can actually run.
I'm pretty sure it's illegal for us to be good at both phases of offense at the same time.
