Some News From Campus

This is the most obvious "fire this guy" situation we've ever had at UM in the modern era. And they're ***** footing around, and he's not going to get fired. Unreal.

Ted, under what grounds is the resistance to his firing occurring in your opinion? Is it primarily financially driven ( not wanting to pay the buyout plus hiring another coach) or is there still any " let's give him more time" sentiment ( would think that's evaporate at this point?)

I would think that too.

I also think at this point Golden would take another job if one is available to him. He knows he is sinking fast and next year (if he is somehow given the opportunity to stay) will be a disaster. He won't have any worth anymore besides a MAC type program.

I think that bridge has been burned unfortunately. His value right now is MAC/ sun belt levels and those jobs pay a pittance relatively speaking such that the likelihood of him leaving for one would have to be considered extremely low

It's both. His buyout is ludicrous and Golden has some cult like followers. Shawn Eischort or whatever his name is should be flayed.

He needs to hire Godlen at Nebraska.

I guess it all comes down to what side of this Stuart Miller is on. These BOT members need to buy a phucking clue. I really don't give a flying ***** how ridiculous his buyout is. Al Golden must be let go one way or another. There is no option. Any scenario that has Fat Al coaching here next year is completely unacceptable! Scapegoating staff does absolutely nothing nothing nothing! It's 2 years too late for that. Also I would like to know who his "cult like followers" are.

TedHendricksOffspring,

I'm not sure the BOT or Mr. Miller himself realize how toxic this situation is. This fan base is utterly disgusted and we are dead serious about this. I don't think these people have any idea just how nasty things are going to get and are severely underestimating the financial backlash they will receive if they do not part ways with Golden. If Golden is retained get ready for a full on total boycott of UM football. We're are in no mood to play this time.

Golden wasn't on campus for the last two days when it was expected that he would be. I heard that from a player.

This mfkr is already packing!

I am not. I can't stand that man. He ruined my 4 years here with his inability to coach a group of studs.

I had randy for three years and one year of Coker as a student. Stop complaining lol. Good work tho

You saw us beat FSU right? I didn't. I win.

That's a pretty ****ed up definition of winning.

LMAOOOOOO it was in terms of who had the worst run in football during our time here.

Hey, I was pre-Howard. It was ugly, but we didn't know any better so you guys win. By the way, we did manage to have fantastic DTs even back then -- I have no clue why we never have one anymore.

He never won the MAC when he was in it. Why would anyone take him back there now? I doubt if even Coker would hire him as assistant out in the bad lands

Well, the lady that's director of student of affairs was probably saying something about how there isn't a single student here that is happy about keeping Golden, and they all want to see him fired. Then she probably went on to say that the reason the students want Golden gone, is because they are using something called logic.

I will say though, all the people I've talked to in my classes have completely lost faith in Golden. And some are even done with Blake James. (About time).

Yet they probably still think Donna is some sort of god, right? She is the original cancer cell that bred this.

Okay, what is the buyout?

Buyout is very likely 5-7 payable over a term and offset by earnings. Not a reason to not pull the trigger. As Hendricks pointed out, rumor has it that James is not done evaluating Golden and there are several influential people who aren't real happy.

That's my point too...they are risking a serious black eye from the media when there is a boycott of UM football. ..and aside from the loyal 8,000 #Canesfam, nobody will go and we will all sit back and watch it burn.

Exactly.

Problem is that these people are out of touch with the fans. They are like Judge Schmails, and the fans are Al Czervik. They have no clue that this situation is a complete tinder box that will explode if they keep this fat lump of ****.

@CanesAreAble: Not happening. Eischort might be on the Hot Seat himself.

@FrancisSawyer: Miller has a lot of the pull but it's not only up to him. A lot of high ranking people think the fan base is bluffing and that will blow up in their face.

@Consigliere: About 8 million.

@Everybody In General: This is not over. That's all I got.

Jesus ******* CHRIST. EIGHT MILLION????

Al Goldens agent, whoever he is, gotta tip my cap. Every offseason there were "rumors" about other schools wanting him:

UCLA, Tennessee, Arkansas, Wisconsin, BC, PED State......he used that and our wounded state to get himself a bigger buyout than Muschamp, Hoke, and Pelini. What a fuggin disaster.

With that said, if every fan who went to the FSU game gave 100 dollars, that nearly covers it. So the BOT needs to pass the collection plate an get it the **** done already.

TedHendricks is our #1 source on news from this mess.

$8,000,000 is worth it. That's $1,000,000 for every loss we'll have next year if these losers return.
