I also hope the experiment at DT is over. If you want to play them at end then get them to look like a DE. I remember 4 years ago Messidor was by far the best player on defense. If the plan is to have both him and Bain at 280 again and taking a decent amount of snaps at DT that is a recipe for disaster like we saw last year. Have em drop down to 255 ish and get after it.
I could see that point of view if they were playing in the Mark Donofrio(no D scheme). The DBS did them no favor which is true but I’m also not seeing the elite burst and athleticism with this duo. I like us to be stout against the run though

The Bain you saw as a freshman and first year Messidor are what you will see. If you don't remember how their burst looked go watch those highlights. These guys are very good and it will show.

Bain for sure. I understand why everyone is high on him. I think he has an all ACC type season. I’m not sold on Messidor. His 2022 campaign was decent, but nothing more. I know he’s battled some injuries, played out of position, and had bad coaching, so I don’t fully blame him for his subpar play the last 2 seasons. Hope Messidor proves me wrong.
