Some national views on the Canes

ROC Boys Football is a great YouTube channel… they do 15 minute or so videos on teams all over the country… they know our roster as good as anyone and are one of the few who don’t secretly, or openly, wanna see UM fail.

I do watch them. They are more objective in their assessment and analysis than others wanting to either bash us or gain our clicks.

Sure ma’am

Look, clowny, here's how clueless you are.

You are talking about the David Stone of 2024. He was a backup as a freshman.

Meanwhile the rankings posted were for 2025 rush ends. You know, as in rushing on passing downs. It's a projection of what will happen in 2025, not what happened in 2024.

Damonic Williams is a squatty nose tackle. He will be in for rushing situations. Between Stone's off-season improvement, his big NIL raise, and his increased role in the defense on passing downs in 2025, he will definitely be playing a lot more as a sophomore than he did as a freshman.

It would be great if you were smart enough about football to know this stuff, but I don't expect much out of you.

Why not Jayden Jackson? In regards to commanding triple teams

He's good too. By all accounts, David Stone has taken huge steps since last year. Again, Jayden Jackson's strength lies more to run-stopping. The rating of DEs was as edge rushers, so I believe David Stone will command more of the OL presence inside on pass-rushing downs.

But on rushing downs, Damonic Williams and Jayden Jackson will be stout.

Looking at the TE rankings, I was stunned that some big schools didn’t go after Stowers. I think he could be the best TE in next years class. Very good athlete and only just learning the position.

Ok I don’t follow them much. I saw some critiquing of Stone for being the ugly sister of the two when we were in the DT market heavy. I think he would be best served here but, you gotta pay what it costs now-a-days.

ROC boys are big fans of the hurricanes program and do their research.

I still need to see it with our defensive ends. Hoping light foot takes that next step as a rush end. I don’t see us generating much pass rush with mesidor and Bain at ends.
Excuse Me Reaction GIF by One Chicago

WOW! They are going to blow up in this new D.

Is that Marvin Jones Sr. or Jr??? Because son plays like its flag football

Also, Florida doesn't need to be top 10 anything in college football offensively. Like the overaggressive hype for that **** team is baffling!!

It's all good, sir. It's absolutely true that Stone wasn't a superstar as a freshman, but there are a lot of good reports on him since earlier in the 2024 season, which is why it was such a dust-up when he went into the Portal.

As for my comment, a lot of what I say is intended to be humorous or sarcastic. The point is, the guys on the outside for Oklahoma won't get to the QB if they don't have a pass-rusher up the middle, which would be David Stone.

We're all good. I realize David Stone is no longer a "backup" for 2025.

I always like to look at these national rankings to compare our perception in this Canes bubble versus the national view. These guys are Michigan fans who do a good job with national coverage on their YouTube channel. Of course, the real story will be told on the field:

Interestingly, not counting Bain/Mesidor, we recruited (heavily, in most of them) 7 of those guys.
