So You Want a Savage DC? Part 4: Manny Diaz

25 downvotes.

Not a SINGLE upvote from the peanut gallery......

But now that he's been hired, they love him, love the hire, and think it's great.

FASCINATING case study in fan psychology right here.

I'll be curious how many people, now that he has been hired, will upvote, when there were crickets previously.

And like clockwork, Valid comes on and tries to slyly add an upvote HAHAHAHAH pathetic.

These are the same folks who were adamant that Golden just "needed time".

You really are trying to hard at this point.

This thread was up for any of his now sudden supporters. All these geniuses who have declared this guy a great hire.

Yet not A SINGLE ONE cared to upvote or comment. ZERO.

Twenty five people took the time to downvote the asinine suggestion that we hire this clown. But not a single one thought it was a good idea.

But now that he's hired, every excuse and glossing over under the SUN is coming out. Fascinating, truly.

AHAHAHAHAHAHHA valid just upvoted it!!! What a child.

Where were you before Valid??????

Honest question, do you want this guy to fail?

Although he's not a lot of people's first choice, I hope he does well and kills it next season. The way you post suggests you enjoy seeing the program down so you can waste time *****ing about it. God **** man. Don't forget we started last season with Alf and No D at the helms and now we got ******* Richt and Diaz, atleast let them work a little before *****ing.

To explain his time at Texas, insert all the Charlie Strong gargling, just isn't the right fit, and insert Diaz name instead.

I've admitted I wasn't a fan of Manny coming. I wanted Mullen as the HC, but hoped he wouldn't bring Manny.

So, I get your point.

But as I've done with Richt, I'm giving Manny a fresh start.

Neither of them were first options for me. But they've been hired ... So, I can keep griping about wanting Dan Mullen and John Chavis, or I can be excited about about a new HC who won a bunch of games in the SEC over the past 15 years and his new DC who's know for hyper-aggressive, blitz-happy defenses.

I choose the latter. And, I'm guessing, most who are on the Manny-train are probably doing the same.

It doesn't matter what I want. I don't live in a fantasy world in which corches suddenly become great bc they came to my team.

Instead, since I know this guy doesn't have the acumen needed for us to turn around and win 'ships, I will trash him every day until he is fired, so as to insure that we move on from him as quickly as possible. The last thing I can deal with is another several years of sub par defense.

When this guy falters, and he will bc thats what he does, I want him out quickly.

So you're just gonna disregard the fact that Texas had trash players in 2012 and 2013 aside from the fact that his scheme got screwed over by the DB coach? I'd rather take the optimistic side and say that his defense here will reflect 2011 UT strictly based on the talent that he's surrounded by.

LOLOLOLOLOL I have heard it all. I mean the old "Texas had bad players" argument is funny enough.....

But the "DB coach screwed him over" is easily the most absurd, hilarious, bull**** excuse I've ever heard for a coach. LMFAO. The renegade DB coach who just WOULDN'T coach zone!!! HAHAHAHAHHA im CRY laughing over this......

I hear the DB coach threatened to go on a hunger strike unless they never played Cover 4......and like a good Catholic, Diaz caved.

So you're saying 2011 was a complete anomaly?

Ok so when someone has defenses ranked in the 30s 40s and 50s every year, both in scoring and total D. And then one year has the 11th total D but a scoring D still in the 40s, that is a clear cut example of AN ANOMALY.

To be fair, now that he's a reality, people are forced to take a harder look.

The snap judgment is, "Didn't he suck at Texas? No, thanks." But he has some things working in his favor.
