I'm good with this but the defensive coach we are hiring, needs to be a big time recruiter.

Not that blame is his primary concern,...but I think he understands people will hold him 100% accountable for every completed pass should he not hire a DC,...as he just witnessed with the outed offensive staff.
 
I don't know why you all hate on Rumph. I get the recruiting thing but he has done an great job coaching these kids up. Manny just said he doesn't care about rankings from 247 espn etc. So just because those high ranked kids chose to go elsewhere doesn't mean the kids here stink.
 
Keeping Simpson is great. He has the aggression, ability to recruit and he's planting seeds in the NE with GA and South Florida so he's the one guy on staff who recruits and coaches at the level we need

Now we'll see if Rumph can recruit, without the massive Shichtshow cloud hanging over the program. This year showed even the dumbest morons why some recruits were wise to avoid. If Manny turns the boat around, they will come

Would have been a huge mistake to lose Jess, as he is only connection to metro Atlanta area. Will pay big dividends for Canes if SEC does not grab him soon.
 
Hopefully Rumph is learning from his recruiting mistakes . Is it far fetched to think he could improve as a recruiter as his career goes on ?
 
While Rumph gets blasted for recruiting. People never take into account that Richt and Manny had to sell the kid as well.

The 1st two seasons. The offensive recruiting was beyond what the defense was landing. Yet the defense has been the one getting better every year.

We didn't take a beating this past season because of Rumph. We took a beating because of Richt and his ****** offensive coaches.

Not just that but basically all of his misses were either Bama is a monster or something crazy but he was in the top 2 for what 10 dlineman? He makes impact
 
Hopefully, Manny will hold his staff accountable, unlike Richt.

A renewed energy with the new cartel should help.
