Silvera

Was thinking to myself earlier that we have a legit 2 deep on the DL, this injury hurts but no means season changing unless another injury happens. Hopefully he can come back and still get his 4 games in and redshirt, no doctor but if it was a serious foot injury wouldn't he have been using crutches with his boot?

Im a foot and ankle surgeon so here's my 2 cents:
If he's been playing on it since it happened its almost certainly soft tissue, not bone.
The most common soft tissue injuries to the foot (not ankle) wound be a split tear to the peroneus brevis or posterior tibial tendon. Possibly plantar fascia. If any of the above need repair he's out 3 months minimum per my protocol.
Bummed cause I expected him to start sometime this year. Maybe its a reality check and he learns to control his emotions...

No ATFL tear?

We have had the worst luck the last 15 years. Just in the last cpl of years malek young and ahmon richards injuries, trajan bandy thrown out of LSU game, herndon gets hurt right before clemson it never ends.

This is wrong. We have the same kind of luck every other team has. Injuries are random. Some of you don’t understand the concept of randomness - read up on it

That would be considered ankle surgery not foot. CFL tears commonly need repair but almost never isolated ATFL. Those heal with immobilization
I don't know if I'd agree with you on that.

An ATFL tear could certainly mean "foot surgery" because a media report would not necessarily know the difference.

Also, ATFL tears absolutely need repair for high level athletes looking to aggressively rehab their lateral ankle instability. The typical athlete that has their ATFL augmented can return to action in less than 12 weeks as opposed to the 20+ months that was the norm in the past.

Is there any other program in the country as secretive about injuries as Miami?

This does not seem like the norm from other schools

Pretty much every other school. I guess you don’t know anything about HIPPA do you?

You do understand that an individual owns his medical information, and it’s up to that individual to release his specific medical information not anyone else. There may be some exceptions like in the NFL where you can sign waivers because of the gambling issue that was brought up, but I’m not sure. I do know in college, it’s taken seriously everywhere.

Maybe one of the physicians that have joined in this thread can explain this concept. I’ve tried before when people become indignant about not knowing exactly what injuries people have.

Post your medical reports. I want to see what some of you guys have been up to. Especially the guys that have that rash that won’t go away on their ******* ... you know who you are.

My comments were specific to foot because that's what the report said. If it was unknown foot/ankle/leg etc they usually just say lower extremity. But its the media so who knows they're usually wrong.
Lateral ankle stabilization ie Brostrom procedure is repair of the CFL with a soft tissue anchor and yes can return at 12 weeks

The most common 2, generally cause discharge to come out of your shlong and burn when you ****. I'm unaware of ******* rashes

I agree. I felt like him being temperamental and not always being the most coachable was a bad omen. Hopefully this is a learning experience for him, and serves as a catalyst to him becoming a better player overall. You can't talk & act like Sapp, without 1st proving it on the field.

Thing is, do we know this injury has anything to do with any kind of a fight? This specific foot injury? I sure don’t know.
