ND lost to us and on the last play to the another undefeated team in the top 5. Are we really doing this?

We have a way better resume than anyone else in the country.

Too far. We absolutely won. It definitely feels like we won.

There's just this "yeah, but..." feeling that you know will be used against us. And the ****** part is it's self-inflicted.

Ya, I’m not happy with the finish, either. But we got 2 weeks to debate it before Louisville. I feel like — tonight — we should be celebrating what this team has accomplished to start the year.

I doubt most of us thought we would be 5-0 at this point going into the season. I know I didn’t. Let’s enjoy the night. Celebrate the kids. Tomorrow we can turn the page and figure out why this team can’t finish.

What should they have done instead? Airing it out after the onsides makes no sense trying to ice a game.
 
I think Mario did great. FSU had an improbable drive, that took enough time off the clock that a TD couldn't win.

Why do so many of you have an anti Mario agenda?
 
It was more Castellanos’ 4th quarter hero plays and our penalties than anything else. 2 or 3 of those 10+ near sacks would have been TFL vs. Lagway or Brown. Hate to say it but Tommy was the main factor in them getting the 19 points on us.

Dont bother debating theyre just playing the result. If the run game ran the clock out ppl would be celebrating bully ball.

I haven't seen one person actually make an argument based on the game why we should have aired it out ppl are just more intrested in whining.

But ill do it for them the run game was shut down pretty much all night. So it was kind of weird to be in a chew clock situation when you couldn't run like you have been in previous games probably should have thrown it a little more but at the same time the defense was absolutely gassed so idk man this is why im just happy with stacking W's everything went against miami in the 4th it is what it is.

The side of the ball that actually had multiple opportunities to stop the bleeding was the defense and they gave up like 4 straight 4th downs.

I’m not blind to the issue ghosting issues we’ve had. We can hate on the teams we’ve beat. But let’s call a spade a spade. UF has a good defense. ND is probably one of the T10-15 teams in the country. FSU isn’t a bad team. Not world beaters but the fact remains they aren’t bad.

I don’t look at the defense like they had issues. No holding calls, constantly chasing a mobile QB is taxing. I would’ve loved so more blitzes to try stopping them early in the drives. But I get not calling them as the drive moved along.

I mentioned being concerned we weren’t stepping on necks after the UiF game and was surprised how many disagreed

It wasn’t in the 4th quarter against USF or UiF but in both games we made it closer than it needed (yes the USF game should have been worse)

Every game we’ve had a foot on the throat and stepped off just not always in the 4th quarter

Agreed. Im all for ppl pointing out mistakes or flaws but none of it is constructive or stated coherently they also provide no solutions.

Half this board was predicting a close game anyways so idk what the problem is.

I wouldn't say anything if our DL and our DE's weren't dominating BUT they ate destroying the semenholes and ZERO CALLS. It can't be explained with out they trying to FVCK US

Mario just has to stop taking the foot off the gas and handcuffing Dawson to try to run the clock out like a dumbass. If the O just kept doing what they were doing we cruise but he went into run out the clock mode

My solution would be not running into loaded boxes where the defense is selling out . Maybe run some quick game , rubs, or a rb screen.

Lack of variety is deffo an issue on offense. The stubborn nature of running into a loaded box is comical tbh running game is just as much about numbers than power or toughness.
