Man, all it takes is one play. Get in, catch a TD, R.I.P. off your uni to reveal a U shirt, and run around the entire stadium holding up the U. If you really want an ending, after the circling, close it by running out a la Thrill Hill And never return..lol. That would be on every News feel and you would go down more as a revered Cane

For one touchdown? Not worth it, imo.

That whole stick in it ‘til the end is for people who live lives of mediocrity...or worse. Winners don’t waste time on things that don’t benefit them and they guard their time with their life; knowing that almost everything but time is replaceable. Own everything. You’re responsible. Don’t let the lost steer you into a life of victimhood. CHOOSE. Here’s a few articles on successful people and quitting. Whatever you decide, good luck.

The Art of Quitting: Successful People Don't Always Persevere
Winners Are Quitters! Successful People Quit Everyday.

ha ha ha ...this guy is a loser quitter and trying to justify his life in the basement. Never, never quit any endeavor because once you do, it will be easier next time. Many of us who have been successful in life have experienced discrimination, disfavor or many other circumstances far beyond our control. **** if I could put cleats on for 2 more months for the fun of it ......
You have a very long way to go in life and as I tell my sons.....suck it up, keep your mouth shut and enjoy the opportunity to be young and healthy. Quite frankly not many people know who or what your capabilities are but they will never forget quitting. You've got many more bigger obstacles in life than a football field.

As for everyone else, I see both sides to it and value what you all have to say. I don't want anyone to feel sorry for me and I'm not trying to be seen as a complainer since this is part of life and everyone has things that don't go their way. I've never quit anything in my life and I know I would feel bad doing it, but I'm at a pretty low point to be considering it. We rarely if at all rotate at the receiver position, it's usually guys sub in if the starters get tired, which doesn't happen much, and I haven't seen this at other D1 programs.

After the game our WR coach said since the game was close the whole game he didn't want the 3 starters to come out for any plays, and Butler being one of the worse teams in our conference, makes me think that this is going to stay the same. Football has been one of the most important things in my life so obviously I highly value it, at the same time my knees and hamstrings are in bad shape and my back isn't great due to a spinal fracture and several bulged discs I got while at Miami. If I was still at Miami none of this would matter to me since I love that program more than anything, but since I'm not seeing the field for a program that is mediocre at best and for a staff that lied to me and my mom's face to get me here and now want to tell me I can't play because of my size, it's hard to want to stick around.

Kick return..punt return? No other ways to get you touches?.
I cant see how you dont get reps at Drake...im totally confused that they are only playing 3 wrs as well

I've asked several times but they're ingrained with who they want out there. My middle school coaches knew as much about the position as my WR coach does now, very few things make sense around this program. I'm not sure if they're intimidated from where I came from or just stupid or both.

As an old guy I'd say stick it out, but I wouldn't blame you at all if you want to walk. I guess the only thing I can say is that whatever you do, wherever you go, you'll always be a Cane. If these fckers don't appreciate what that means, then they're even dumber than you've made them out to be.

No one is questioning his O&G bloodline. Its two months of additional commitment to a sport he loves. Every moment should be precious. The level of support he gets from his coaches at this point is inconsequential in the big scheme of things.

Why is it so hard to believe? They coach at drake and not miami for a reason..

Austin idk you but your coaches seem like snakes, big time snakes. Politics is probably how they got there and probably why you're not getting any burn.

I see the same stuff at my job; people that have potential don't get **** and meanwhile people that have no business even being employed get special treatment.
I couldn't bring myself to risk injury for some ******* like that, I wouldn't blame you one bit if you told him to shove it right up his ***ing @ss

this is not about playing or even the team. this is about you and what you are made of. you've shown to yourself, to us and to many others that you are a smart young man. finish your commitment and move on . dont quit because you would be quitting on yourself. even if it sucks, finish until the end. there is no upside in quitting.

you are a winner and will be very successful in your life.

Coaches are pretty much ******** me here and seems like they already decided on who was going to play before I showed up. I had a tremendous camp and have been out performing guys in practice that are playing more than me in the games but it is what it is. I can only control my performance, the rest is out of my hands. I really appreciate everyone's support on here.

God has a plan for you young brother the best is yet to come. Stay humble and keep doing the right things and time will reveal it's presence.

Not all good news today:

Drake University Athletics - Football vs Dayton on 10/7/2017

I can understand if Austin moves on; Dayton was a winnable game if they used their best WR talent...

QB had 4 picks, could've been 8 or 9 if their DBs didn't let several go right through their hands. Receivers had no separation and I think there were 5 or 6 drops but I didn't get in any plays again. Fortunately I was able to catch the second half of the UM game so I ended my day on a high note.

Before I met @apfenny3 , I saw him make scholarship DBs look silly on Greentree with my own eyes. I asked Pete who #35 was and he told me he was a CIS member.

Drake is blowing it.

Keep grinding, hopefully we’ll see the rock in your hands a few times before the season ends.

WTF do these coaches have to lose?

"Just as certain as death Westinghouse will kill a customer within six months after he puts in a system of any size, He has got a new thing and it will require a great deal of experimenting to get it working practically."
- Thomas Edison, deriding AC power systems. These systems are the standard now, not Edison's DC system which failed.

"It is apparent to me that the possibilities of the aeroplane, which two or three years ago were thought to hold the solution to the [flying machine] problem, have been exhausted, and that we must turn elsewhere."
— Thomas Edison. Yeah, he doubled down on stupid (The Wright Flyer flew eight years later).

Sometimes a person may be perceived as brilliant, but in actuality can be blinded by their own ignorance. Drake's Coaches Fox and Pole are Edisons...
