SIAP - Pfenninger

Hey bro, I guess if your there on ship then stick it out for the financial aspect, but if your not then I’d go ahead and move on and dedicate more of your time to your prospective professional field. I respect you for sticking with your passion as long as you have. In that respect your are truly an inspiration to 95% of athletes in America. You stayed in great shape and you played until you found that wall you couldn’t climb. Nothing wrong with that! You seem to have a great sense of humor and are obviously a smart kid. Best of luck to you! If you want to vacation in Vermont lmk I have a guest room. You can so hit up the ski bunnies at MtSnow!

Proof again that all coaches lie. These 'cats getting targeted would die in the practices Austin excelled in.

I'm glad others realize this too. Played at Butler which is 10 minutes down the road from my house and I didn't get 1 snap. Debating if I want to stick with it or not.

Austin, see it through to the end. If you play more and get targeted more, that would be great. If you don't, you have the satisfaction f knowing no one beat you and you made it to the end. My mantra when things get tough is "put your head down and make it to the end." Put your head down and make it to the end, Austin.

Wise words. Listen to this dude.

Nothing to be gained here by quitting. You never know when, or if, things might turn in your favor, but you can always tell yourself you gave it everything you had. Work even harder and be an inspiration to your teammates. Don't let a clueless fck of a HC control you. Rise above that facquit.

Only 2-3 months more. Just pull through and do it for yourself, and not your coach. Start having fun and enjoy every second of it. You got nothing to lose. Play with swag and with a **** you attitude. Don't go down without a fight. Gotta grind man! Nothing is easy in this world.

2 months then you never play college ball again. This is your last hurrah. Make it about you and the love of the game. Do not quit.

Brah this is you rlast chance . Never quit. I miss my college days right now playing ball. Enjoy every miniute even practice. Do all that you can.

The league is set up like the Ivy League, where all scholarships are funneled through the school instead of football department, so I would still keep my aid if that's the route I ended up taking. Thank you I'll take you up on that if I'm ever in the area, I'm a big fan of snowboarding.

As for everyone else, I see both sides to it and value what you all have to say. I don't want anyone to feel sorry for me and I'm not trying to be seen as a complainer since this is part of life and everyone has things that don't go their way. I've never quit anything in my life and I know I would feel bad doing it, but I'm at a pretty low point to be considering it. We rarely if at all rotate at the receiver position, it's usually guys sub in if the starters get tired, which doesn't happen much, and I haven't seen this at other D1 programs.

After the game our WR coach said since the game was close the whole game he didn't want the 3 starters to come out for any plays, and Butler being one of the worse teams in our conference, makes me think that this is going to stay the same. Football has been one of the most important things in my life so obviously I highly value it, at the same time my knees and hamstrings are in bad shape and my back isn't great due to a spinal fracture and several bulged discs I got while at Miami. If I was still at Miami none of this would matter to me since I love that program more than anything, but since I'm not seeing the field for a program that is mediocre at best and for a staff that lied to me and my mom's face to get me here and now want to tell me I can't play because of my size, it's hard to want to stick around.

I understand the frustration at the poor treatment, but stop a second and look at this way: what's the downside of sticking it out vs the downside of quitting.

Don't think about right now, think about how you'll feel 6 months from now, a year from now, ten years from now. Think about telling a prospective employer, or your kids, how even when things were going 100% against you, you stuck it out. You persevered, you didn't give up.

You're a cane so you'll always get my support as well as others here, no matter what. But if there's any way you can stick it out, my advice would be to do so.

OCC is preaching. Change your frame of reference to playing for personal growth. Nothing gained at all by hanging up your cleats before November. Time to grind and battle through the adversity.

Wise words from Ibis Wingz, but I would suggest you keep your head up. Doing so also sets your atititude to where it should be. Once a Cane - always a Cane.

I've asked several times but they're ingrained with who they want out there. My middle school coaches knew as much about the position as my WR coach does now, very few things make sense around this program. I'm not sure if they're intimidated from where I came from or just stupid or both.

Whether it’s a relationship, job, business venture or a peer group...if you’re not being appreciated or utilized to the fullest, or it’s just not working - then quit. It’s nonsense to stay doing something where you’re not valued or it’s not working; and there’s too much of your life that you can’t get back. Knowing when to say enough is the most important lesson you will learn in life. If you’re not going to the NFL there is no reason to honor a dishonorable agreement.

You know who you are by now. “Sticking it out” WILL NOT BUILD YOUR CHARACTER. Moving on to the next chapter of your live and putting all you have into that and excelling is where you need to concentrate your thoughts and energy. It’s a lesson, that’s it; not a sentence. Being a tackling dummy for a coach/program where you have no love and your chance for injury in practice is just as high...don’t do it.

Time to put childish things away.

Whatever ever you do, however you leave, before U go, tell the coaches there they are lying pieces of ****.

Well Dayton is 1-4 and you get them at home next ; they are not the PFL power they usually are (Fun Fact: Chucky Gruden played there); I know one kid who has been playing some there and he has no business seeing the field. It's the 6th game of an 11 game season and if you get no burn, I don't think anyone would question you moving on...

Okay, I will admit I would take great pleasure in hearing you score a TD against the Flyers, especially since I know our local radio guy would botch your name (and Drake has no pronunciation section in its media guide) and then hype up the Miami tie.

No matter which way you choose, you control your life and we all know it will turn out great.

If I was an NFL player and I wanted an agent,I would want one that was not a quitter and was a relentless ad vocate. Just stick with the team.

yea i would just continue to bug them EVERYDAY. Take as many reps in practice as u can. At this point you may have to go above the "position coaches" if your saying they they are that incompetent.

Worst possible advice.

I guarantee this guy is a loser in life with that attitude.

Don't listen to this loser.
