Article in ESPN says we blocked him from all ACC schools and any team on our schedule next season. Kinda surprising as I thought CMR typically allowed them to go wherever.

Probably more to do with is in depth knowledge of our offense.

Exactly....CMR has stated in the past they he will let kids transfer to any team that isn't on our schedule. Imagine if FSU had an extra ship to give and offered it to him just to get in depth knowledge about our offense and signals.

That's for his own benefit really. He's not starting at any ACC team - they'd just be bringing him in as a scouting tool.

It's a UM Athletics policy. True for all sports. Players are not permitted to transfter to any ACC school or future opponent. Not sure how far out that part goes, but teams we play in 2018 and 2019 were included in the list of schools he was barred from transferring to. CMR doesn't make this decision.

You can't bar them from transferring anywhere. But, by not releasing them, they cannot be on scholarship the first year at their new school.

It's bulls*** when others do it and the same when we do it. The day is FAST approaching when the power will shift much more to the players. And "policies" like this will be no more.

Same thing happened with Gus last year. Richt is on the record saying he's not a fan of blocking transfers, it's our AD who is blocking them not Richt.

Complete bull****! Richt is wrong. James is wrong. Miami is wrong. The ACC and the NCAA are wrong. Evan shouldn’t even need a release.

No school should be able to restrict any student from furthering their education anywhere, when the “blocking school” isn’t paying for it.

He can transfer without restrictions after he graduates in May.

Because they don’t have to restrict Evan.

It’s not they. Clearly been stated it’s UM policy and Blake James decision. Richt doesn’t have time to go beg n plead for James to change his mind for one player when he has recruiting and 80 other players to take care of. These kids know the transfer rule right or wrong so when you decide to do it have a plan in place to deal with it.

Absolutely we shoukd block him to teams on our schedule. Teams would sign him just to get inside info. He did nothing for this program. He can still transfer to old dominion
