The 4 first down plays before the last interception we gained a whopping 2 yards, each play.
Funny that you mention that game.
When we crossed the fifty I was yelling to the guys around me that "we were going to end this MF'er right here".
 
If the identity of the team is more physicality than it is scheme, then you better make sure your players are ready to run through a brick wall for 12+ games every year.

It’s hard for any team to get up for every game in CFB, especially when you’re in the ACC.

You put A LOT of words in Matt's mouth. No, I'm not his daddy, his GF, his BF, his b!thch, his cuck or anything. However, if you're going to cite the dude, at least put in some wording like "this is how I heard it" or "he said something like..." because you inserted a ton of your own interpretations, some of which I agree with, some I don't. Your first comment - fair. Second comment - Matt never said Mario told Dawson to play conservative. Matt never said who said it. Is it safe to assume it was Mario that Matt was referencing? Sure. But that's not what Matt said. Matt implied that the plan was to play complimentary football in order to allow the defense to rest a bit between series. You sort of explained that in your next sentence about the Cam Ward offense.
The last part about Beck....that's the reason I replied. Matt made a point to say that he only heard comments from one source about Beck and that he didn't really want to share them....and then he sort of talked about it...and it led to your comments about not following the gameplan and starting the selfish, uncoachable crap he did at UGa. You MAY be correct. You also may not be correct. I'm not shooting the messenger, but I am asking that if the messenger wants to pass the message along, make sure that what's being communicated is factually true to the contention being made. I'm not Carson's daddy, GF, BF, B or cuck either. Just a fan. A sad fan....

Assuming a 65 snap game (Some more, some less)… Let's call it a close game.

I think this is fair

Bain 57 snaps
Mesidor 50-55 snaps
Blount 15 outside, 5-10 inside snaps
Lightfoot 20 snaps
Pickett or Bryant 6-7 snaps

I don't how anyone can say there isn't depth at DE. Maybe you see a little more Blount inside, Lightfoot outside if the other team is heavy pass/ or in comeback mode in the 4th. Just manage the workload more effectively, the backups are decent players with upside

DT yes there's depth injuries if there is an injury, but the top 3 is good. What's wrong with this?

Scott (He's the guy that should be seeing more imo) 25
(And Blount's 5-10, maybe more here if against heavy run team)
Simpson or whoever 5 snaps.

Outside runs do exist in this offense, Trumpycane wants to know why we use them so sparingly

Dating back to last year every outside run felt like it went 10+ yards

To be fair....that's just message board fan fantasy.

Cam was the best QB in the country and we had a plecera of WR's and a first round talent TE. A blind man could see that was the way to go with Cam at QB and the group of receivers. So Mario let it play that way.
If we had a Cam clone and the same number if receivers and TE he would let it play that way again. JMO
Fair criticism is why he hasn't recruited at thise spots well enough that he has to revert back to the more conservative way.

I looked up at the scoreboard at the end of the third quarter and saw we had 7 first downs.

Exactly - this went from some random to Shodell to a podcast to a random internet poster summarizing - into some sort of fact chain.

I ask, because if he is putting this out on a podcast, how about asking these questions directly?

The country club comment is really strange to put out there. Doesn't at all fit what Mario does in practices.

The slower pace, I don't think anyone that's watched games this year thinks we aren't playing at a slower pace from last year, so that's not really going out on a limb. The part about doing it to protect players on defense due to depth, that's an opinion more than anything. You want to win the TOP battle and grind teams. Kind of the point of the game? If they don't have the ball and you are putting together successful drives the team gets less possessions. It didn't happen Friday, so now it's a fact that's been the plan all along lol.

If Beck really is doing that, then we will lose more games and his stock wllh go in the crapper, again. I don't think he would self sabotage that way, but who tf knows.

I really wish if this is how these reporters felt and heard things from "sources" they would ask it and confirm it. Not sure most have the stones to do it though. Instead they put these things out for views, clicks, and likes.

If you have a more than capable second unit on the DL then you aren’t lacking depth there. Scott, Blount, Lightfoot have shown that.

Of course others were complaining this weekend that the practices are too hard and run down the players. The reality is these are all rumors and these folks don't know sh*t.

One thing these people do know is Miami fans want to blame something to make Friday's performance make sense. The vultures like feeding into that and putting gasoline on the fire.

Does the staff + team have things to solve? Of course. They've been saying it each week. Did the stakes get a lot higher for them as a result of the loss? 100%.

Furthermore, where’s this narrative on Beck coming from?

Take a look at UGA’s roster from last season. Pretty sure that was Stockton’s 3rd year in the program and other higher ceiling QB’s on roster. I don’t believe for one minute Kirby would keep running him out there if he was a cancer and did what he wanted to do.

I make no excuses for his performance. He plays an average game and we win. But the amount of “insiders” outside of any college program who say stuff just to say it is just stupid.
