He said he has a great source who told him the following:

Practice was a country club the two weeks before Louisville. No intensity.

Mario has told Dawson to play conservative so that we have long offensive drives. Mario has told Dawson this bc we need to help the defense so they can rest due to lack of depth. Mario didn’t want a Cam Ward offense where the defense gets no rest bc we are scoring so quickly.

Also told him Beck is freelancing trying to play his way into the NFL. He’s not following the gameplan. Sounded like he’s been told Beck is starting the selfish, uncoachable crap he did at UGA. Not great….

I highly doubt most of this true… There may be tidbits here, but they are most likely being taken out of context, or being exaggerated.

BUT a couple comments if it is...

- Practice was a country club? Doesn't even sound like CMC…

- There is depth on the defense everywhere except DT and S, and having 3 good ones is fine, which we DEFINITELY have at those positions, especially when we see Blount sliding inside a lot. In fact give me more Aguirre/Pruitt to begin with, I usually defend Bissainthe and overall he's been pretty good this year, but he was TERRIBLE against Louisville…And Toure is good but one dimensional. As for DE…Bryant has proven to be serviceable, and Lightfoot flashes EVERY **** time he's in the game. No they aren't the same all around player as the starters, but who the **** is? You can win with Lightfoot playing 15 snaps. a game (more against strong passing teams or if the other team is trying to mount a 4th Q comeback), and Bryant playing 5-8 if needed. Blount is a strong option as a 3rd DE and is actually doing his job very well, just don't know if he can ever be a true pass rush threat from outside, he's a big kid. Pickett is supposedly impressing them as a pass rusher. Put him in Bryant's place if he's better now... There is no depth problems at DE, none.

- We had 1 game in 3 **** weeks…IMO it's BS either way : A. I don't see CMC making the depth argument (at least ot the point where it's an argument, every team would like more depth and every team has positions where they are thinner than others), or B: If he is then is misreading his own situation. No one's roster in America has the same quality in its 2nd string at EVERY SINGLE POSITION. Nickle there appears to be a depth problem, but K.Scott is an animal and NFL player. You have 3 good safeties and 19 corners.

- Hopefully the Beck **** isn't true…But I do worry there is some lack of chemistry between him and Dawson right now. And that could be trouble, at least to win out. I do know he had NO business throwing that first interception…None…. You watch the back angle of that play and I don't care if Toney has half a step on the defender, everything is open BESIDES Toney. Overall I'm neutral on Dawson, don't love him.

Again I think Shodell or whoever is exaggerating, because I don't believe any staff would go out of it's way to sabotage something that was very good and a top 5-6 team in America against a pretty **** good, top 20ish schedule. If it is true, it's alarming that CMC is so **** obsessed with building the perfect roster that he is sabotaging his chances to win with a pretty good one

This would be going out of it's way to turn a top 10 team into a soap opera

Pretty clear that Beck knew that he had the spotlight to himself Friday night and looked at it as his Heisman showcase. Murray breakdown convinced me of this.
As far as the Mario stuff, I don't see why that's a bad thing. We don't have Cam. Our defense is thin, especially on the DL. And if he played like this against Syracuse we would've won the ACC and made the playoff.
I don't believe the country club thing for 1 second.

I don’t know about the Beck stuff, so I won’t say anything.

As for the practice. They got pretty physical on Tuesday (sorry!) when I was there.

If he calls that a country club, I don’t know what to say.

You’re also not going to be as intense as you were in the summer in the middle of the season. It’s 17-games if you play that long. It can be physical and intense without turning it into a meat grinder.

How about designing gameplan around what gives you the best opportunity to win no matter who the opponent is.

Sounds like it wasn’t just the players that got caught looking ahead.

I believe some of that but doubt the country club rumor.

The offense is obvious. I actually think protecting your depth on D, especially #3 and #4 is wise because we'll need them and it's a long season. It's not a terrible strategy but Mario doesn't know when to turn it off when the team needs to just go out and score points.

I doubt the Beck rumors are fully true because being uncoachable is a sure fire way not to get drafted, regardless of what you show on the field. If Kirby smart and Mario are both telling NFL scouts that Carson is uncoachable, he's not getting a high draft grade. But I definitely know Carson wants to reverse the narrative around him and get back into the early first round conversation so he's taking shots he shouldn't be taking..we can see that on the field.

Good post…I'd just like to add, that if they are playing #3 and #4 every play to begin with…It's pretty **** dumb. You have backup ends, it's unrealistic not to expect a drop-off, but we have backup ends that are good players. You can play Bain 80-85% snaps, Mesidor that or a little less if banged up, and Blount 25% as a true end (not counting his inside snaps in pass situations) and Lightfoot 20-25%…

After 4 years and millions of dollars spent on recruiting and signing HS and portal transfers.

Here is an idea, score a bunch of points so that you can rotate more players on both sides of the ball, thereby giving starters more rest, less wear and tear plus added bonus of his giving backups much needed playing time.

If this is indeed about Mario slowing down the offense, then he's an imbecile.

Yup I'm leaning this way too…But some of the personnel stuff does have me worried. There is depth at MOST spots on this team.

I’m just talking about the intensity of the practice, the personal stuff…

Well, we pay a guy $10M and 2 coordinators $4.5M to figure that out.

I don’t have to consider the source when the tape proves this offense is entirely different than last year’s and more conservative.
We all knew it was going to be different this year with Cam gone. NO ONE outside Hecht knew exactly what it was going to look like.

Only part making sense is slowing the offense to enhance the defense. Learned a lesson from last year.
Country club 2 weeks before Louisville? Would love hearing Mario’s response.

They spent how much again on Beck, just to go into a shell offensively? Makes perfect sense.

We are now 60hrs removed from our list loss and we've seen the irrelevant vultures circle in 2 different areas. Names many of us never knew or had forgotten start to surface from the sewers. Who is next? Navarro, Barry, etc...
I saw that *******, Barry, pop up for the first time sucking on the Jojo “X”post by Luke.

******* grifter, that guy.

You can see MC's handprints on the offense from a mile away. The problem now is if this team does not start crushing teams getting left out of the CFP is a legit possibility. This offense has been Jeckyl and Hyde all season. I don't have a problem with leaning on the run-game as long as it results in finishing drives with TDs.

The countryclub attitude to practice before the UL game is a bit of a surprise because the Cardinals have a Florida heavy roster, you know they are going to show up and show out because many had aspirations of playing at UM.
