That's awesome info man, love to hear about Rosseau and Garvin being the best bookends in the nation one day.

Tell Shaq and Zach they need to be like DJ and Vilma back in the day. Dominate the field and then go get that NFL paycheck.

He is ready... they are all ready chomping at the bit to get the season started. He is down to 230 from 245... He has a chip on his shoulder … and he told me... Watch... So far his college career is mirroring his high school career. Freshmen year surprised a great deal of people on the way he carried himself... Sophomore year teams realized he was a threat and game planned against him... Junior year he realized he was the one... and couldn't be stopped. I told him that is what I want to watch. I'm expecting to see a lot more 4-2 Striker this season... with Derek Smith and Romeo Finley on the field... but we will still see a lot of Zack. We will miss Chad, RJ, Ken and Trent up front but we may be the same or even stronger... Every year watching Shaq's teammates leave before and expect a huge fall of... that has taught me the next man will stand... Shaq's Soph to Junior year in High School they lost 4 D1 players and I was like it was good while it lasted... Soph year 8-4, Junior year 12-0...

Upfront on D: G Willis and Nesta are our Dawgs... Ford is our bruiser and Pat will be our tactician. We Ready
Backers: They know the spot light is on them... The Trio is ready for the challenge w/ some young guns that are ready now behind the. We Ready
DBs: Just as much experience if not more than our Backers... Jaquan and Redwine will turn it up two notches... w/ some young studs ready to
to cut up. We Ready

Offense is arguably the most talent we have had in some years... Obvious question marks... who will be the man and will the Oline come out and play....

I was thinking - if Jaquan and Redwine turn it up much higher - opponents will need to bring a coroner to our games.

The names that he mentioned that are ready to "take it up two notches" are exactly the names I want to hear...Shaq, Mike Pinck, Jaquan and Redwine. We know what we will be getting from Willis, JJax, and Mike Jax. They are playing for high round draft status..No extra motivation needed.

IMO, you get those first 4 to take that next step in their game and this D will become elite.

We’ve got some depth coming too so if these guys don’t push themselves they will be losing snaps. McCloud started to put things together at the end of the year as well.

Funny story I like to share... I have to be careful not to violate anyone privacy...but I liked this one.. here goes... Pinkney and Shaq spend a lot of time being mentored by Beason, Vilma and DJ.. not sure who's house they were at on this ocassion... oh I forgot to mention the trio don't hold any punches with them ... anyway this was a few months ago... When Shaq and Mike walks in to watch film with the trio Beason ask Shaq ...'Have you got with the Offensive Captains to start game planning the season..Shaq was like not yet...at the same time DJ or Vilma was asking about Mike's weight...and Mike didn't respond with a good answer either...then the trio let them have it...Yall need to step the F up...Yall asses are not going to get that ring and going to be 5th round picks... they meet with them often and I appreciate what they do for the team... Shaq works out with them all and the trio goes over and above... And if they are late for a film session or a workout they get...I bet they rather be late to a team event..lol ... I have had the chance to thank Beason in person and he told me that working with them is so easy..because they both want it so bad.

What a great story all recruits should hear. Hopefully the guys tell the recruits this is the kind of "family" the Canes are. It's so important

As always, thanks for sharing @UknowWhat.

Why any top tier LB recruit would want to go to another program, is beyond me. It's one thing when former players come back to their alma maters for big games, big camps, or campus events. It's on another level when you are getting this level of involvement (film study, work out sessions, advice, tutelage, etc..) from Pro-Bowlers, H.O.Fers, etc....
 
Sounds awesome Poppa Shaq, many thanks for the insights. I bet Pink is going to ball out this season, especially @215-220lbs which will make him quicker to the ball. I pray he hasn’t lost any thump with the weight loss...
 
Beason, Vilma, and DJ need to advise all of our underclassmen considering the draft
