I don't think they have a better collective Secondary than Miami, but by comparisons sake after OJ, Leonard Moore & McKinney are better than our next 2.

Miami is no doubt amongst the top 5 best Secondaries in the country.

Miami, Tennessee, Notre Dame, TTech & LSU.

Clemson, Oh ST & Texas have the potential to be in the top 5 group, but, as of now I would have them in the 6-10 range.

I agree. I don't necessarily think he's our best CB, but he's talented and I'm glad we have him.

Even OJ, who's projected as a possible 1st round pick, has had a few blunders in his time here.

Facts!!! He will easily be a top 2 corner on every team in the ACC, Big 12, most of the SEC, and Big 10 yet he is 3 or 4 at Miami.

To be fair, OJ's worst game was against Syracuse, and he only gave up 80 yards and one touchdown. If we cross-reference that with every defensive back in the country—or even those who have ever played the position—that's not really a bad day at all. OJ was never get pick on; in fact, teams usually stayed away from his side of the field.

True, but as a team, you want the first guy to make the tackle every time, but it’s not realistic. As long as he can make a guy slow down and allow others to swarm, that’s the second best case. But if he is just whiffing then that’s a problem! If he is reading it quickly and flying there and misses, that’s more fixable than a guy who reads slowly and cannot get there.
 
I find it interesting that according to CIS..many of our guys will take that next step in development and some will even play themselves into the first round (I.E., Justin Scott, OJ)…everyone except…Ethan O’Connor. Nah it’s impossible for him to get any better. He is who he is. There is no possible way this kid will take that next step like the others, learn from last years mistakes (most in the championship game) and get better. (Am I doing this right? Smh).
