I've heard a lot of praise for the Alabama secondary. Do you think they could be top 5 or top 10?

Keon Sabb is a very good Safety.
But I'm not a believer in Dijon Lee & Zabien Brown.
Dijon in particular is a big Zone Corner & my personal preference I'm not a fan of the Richard Sherman Cover 3 Corner types.

Unless something unprecedented has happened this off season, I don't see him being better than Fitz, Lucas, and Fred and I'm personally high on Thornton, but we shall see. Perhaps me also noticing him struggle vs. Indiana may be clouding my judgement, but if we're being realistic I'd imagine most would see him as no better than 4th in the group. Either way, not sure many would argue him as the best.
I have him behind OJ right now but that could change thru season..
Got you. And this is one I’m ok being wrong on if what I was told is true. If that many are better than what I was told he should be we will be great in the secondary. Good talk

Seems like O'Connor added some weight and strength to help him deal with bigger wide outs this off season....
He was still young and light last year, he could make a big leap this year....

I think he's way better than most posters here seem to. That said, putting him ahead of OJ and Lucas seems ridiculous at this point.

It’s eerily similar. Fans dogged OJ because he got beat up against Syracuse the last game of the year but he emerged last year as our #1 especially when healthy
Ethan got beat by a Heisman trophy #1 QB and a top tier receiver playing pitch and catch to perfection
Both cases I think the players got too much **** for it so hopefully it also pushes him to keep improving
Not only that, he was only put in that position because we were down two bigger corners in Brown and Lucas. Didn't OJ get hurt in the scond half as well?
The crazy thing is I obviously didnt like the back shoulder throws but if ran perfectly, extremely hard to defend.. I was mad he didnt pull the trigger to jump the lollipop Mendoza gave him and make himself a hero forever with the possible pick six.. Never understood goin on someone social media and such..

Just listen to D$ on today’s VIP report. He’s hurt, the severity of it is what is in question.
Agreed. Only thing is OJ, despite one bad game, was returning after a Freshman AA season and was pretty much the assumed #1 CB going into last year. O'Conner is solidly behind two returning starters. So absent injury or suspension, he's #3 on the depth chart.
Neverthless, I expect he'll play a ton and will be good.
