Golden is one of the safest coaches I have seen. If he didn't believe Kayaa could guide us he wouldn't have gave him the nod. He said himself experience would win out if it was close. It didn't. So Kayaa is special. Not expecting a true freshman to win 10+ games isn't some excuse for Golden or however you want to frame it. Just the reality, in my opinion.
There is plenty of talent on offense, no doubt. Best case scenario is he doesn't make too many mistakes and distributes the ball effectively. Worst case, Heaps is starts is the 3rd quarter.
Recruiting at QB is a fair criticism - maybe. Prior to Williams injury I was on board with Williams starting. Kaaya was highly touted, Olsen was highly touted, there are two QBs down the pike coming in that are highly touted.
Just a ****ty situation to have to start a true freshman this year. It is what it is.

Expecting a true freshman to win 10+ games is absurd at this point.

Already getting hit with the freshman QB excuse and we aint even played a game.

If it's unfair to expect a true freshman to win 10 games, would it also be unfair to expect a coaching staff to have recruited QB in such a way so as they don't need to rely on a true freshman QB to start, in year four of their tenure?

It's funny...but expected. I was calling for this to be the new battle cry for the Don Bailey Jr Jr's the second Williams (who in no way is a superstar either) went down.
The cloud will get brought up again at some point as well, give it some time to marinate.

Those saying 10 games is unrealistic, have you seen how ****ty the rest of the division is?
Freshman QB be dammed.

Why? These aren't you father's true freshmen. These kids come in ready to play nowadays...and Kaaya is well ahead of the curve....

That's exactly it, it's all on Golden at this point.
The kicking game is my biggest concern followed by the OL.
