That seems to be the sentiment I’ve been getting from the latest interviews from coaches after practices but who knows? Who do you think leading Dee?

It's getting there. If you're going to hire your son as a QB coach, then make sure the QB position is shored up. We're heading into year 3 under the Richt era. If this were the case anywhere other than Miami (where Jon Richt was working), ask yourself if he'd have a job.

It’s not as dire as a situation like that. Let’s be real about the situation we still have the best stable of qbs in Florida. It’s close between Miami and FSU at the position who are both far ahead of uf . 3600 yard qb 31 touchdowns in 13 games. Think about the missed opportunities rosier missed last year. He could have put up a ridiculous season statistically if he didn’t go through that horrible stretch the last 7 games.

Look I’m one of rosier biggest haters but I know At the end of the day if N’Kosi ain’t ready I dont Want to force him out there either. He’s got to show something in live game situations which he hasn’t yet from scrimmages. I’m very intrigued by Jarren Williams though and hope he wins it

IIRC it's been alluded to in more than one article, if not I would think that it would be headlines that Perry is taking his job. So I'd call it a logical assumption as opposed to a "fact".
I'll also add the only dog I have in this fight is the guy that gives us the best chance to win, I'm no "fan" of any of them outside of who can best do that.

He didn't become the starter until his junior year. He ended his collegiate career at Michigan with a 62% completion percentage. You also have to take into account what type of offense Michigan runs, what personnel they have, etc...

One thing that was mentioned is accuracy is important from the jump with QBs; they either have it or they don't. In Brady's case, his numbers weren't great his first starting year, but he was always accurate.

I believe the term that I used was an an absurd comparison, which is why I didn't make it. However I do think that if the Michigan QB had 1 less TD in two seasons than the Miami QB did in one season because of the system Michigan runs, I would think that speaks more to Michigan having a horrible system than it does Miami having a horrible QB.

Sorry bro, but you're just plain wrong. Sports Reference gives Bernie credit for 12 games in 1984. In those 12 games:
3642 yards passing with 25 TD's, and -230 rushing for 4 TD's. A grand total of 3,412 yards and 29 TD's.

Malik played in 13 games.
3120 yards passing with 26 TD's, and 468 rushing for 5 Td's. He also caught 1 pass for 17 yards. Total: 3,605 yards and 31 TD's.

Statistically speaking, Malik Rosier had the most prolific season in terms of yards and TD's of any QB in UM history. But statistics only tell part of the story. What Rosier will be most remembered for in 2017 is missed opportunities, so I get why it bothers you to see Malik's name next to Bernie's in this conversation. But perhaps it's time to re-evaluate yourselves and stop trying to tear down one player to make your point. My point has never been that Mallik is great or even good, or to compare him to Kosar. I put those numbers up there for context to show that Malik was not terrible all the time. It is impossible for a D1 QB to put up those numbers while being absolutely horrible all the time. It's okay. It is possible, you know, to say we need better QB play in order to build on last season without tearing down a player who contributed massively to the success we had last year. You don't have to go all fool like some of the others and just shrug off 3600 yards and 31 TD's as some anomaly that is so easy to replicate that any old Freshmans we plug in should be able to duplicate with ease.

Stats don't tell the whole story. Football in the early to mid 80s was nothing like it is now. Richt should get more credit for getting blood from a stone. I know people like to say Rosier set the team record for TDs, but ask yourself this question.. If Rosier can set the record, what will a GOOD QB do?

I don't think anyone is saying Rosier is on the Kirby Freeman level, but he darn sure isn't on the Kosar level, either. He's a below average QB, and at UM we should never have to settle on a below average QB. And yes, if you look at all of his stats you will see he is indeed below average. A lot of those 31 TDs were because our talent advantage at the skill positions are incredible. A good QB shatters that record, mark my word. ****, if Rosier was better he himself would have had closer to 40 TDs. How many points did we leave off the board? How many wasted opportunities? Our D got more turnovers than we have seen in years, and our O could hardly cash in on them.

I've said it a hundred times on here and I'll say it again. We averaged 3.6 3rd down conversions a game, which ranked 129 out of 130. That means missed chances, stalled drives, and more stress on the D. A good QB does so much better than that, and we both know it.

Not fire Mark Richt but definitely John Richt. If you're the QB coach and the best QB you can trot out is a sub 50% passer against any team with a pulse, you should not have a job.

A sub .500 passer with 10 wins. But yeah ok... let's fire the guy who helped turn that sub-50% passer he didn't recruit into a 10 game winner, while also doing a pretty good job in bringing in new qb talent (say what you want about Perry not working out (YET) he's still a rs frosh and has potential) along with Williams and looking strong for MJJ.... all bc of completion %

You've got to stop comparing modern day QB numbers to guys who played 20 years ago. The game was vastly different. If you want to compare Malik Rosier's numbers to another QB, you have to compare them to some one who's played recently. Besides a handful of triple option teams, everybody in college football runs more plays and throws way more passes than they did in the past.

And I understand the point being made by @orange&green84 about accuracy. It's why I brought up Kosar's single season yardage record, Walsh's TD record, and Dorsey's completion percentage during our last championship season. Rosier had more yards than Kosar, more TD's than Walsh, and about the same completion percentage as Dorsey. The reason this is important is to point out that Rosier is not our only problem. Just changing the QB is not going to correct our issues. Yes, having a 70% guy will hide many of the other issues the same way a juggernaut team hid many of Dorsey's limitations. Great. When you find a 70% guy on our bench, put him in.

Until then, we need to recognize that we have more problems than a 54% QB. We can win with a 54% QB. Our problem last season wasn't that Rosier was a 54% QB. The problem was that he ended the season as a 44% QB and no team can recover from that. But if Rosier was 54% those last three games, we're celebrating another Ring and talking about Rosier as one of the all time greats.

Best stable of QB's in the state of FL? Why does that matter if they do? The only team that matters is FSU. And they matter less than the teams in the Coastal. Which means what every other team in the state of Florida has on their roster at QB means nothing.

Also, just because I'm not satisfied with Rosier's mediocre play last season doesn't mean I automatically assume one of the freshman will do better. It just means, I'm not satisfied with mediocre QB play and I'm not going to defend his poor performances with "well we won 10 games".

Perry has been here for one fall practice and a part of a spring. Williams got here in January so he's probably got about a half dozen real time practices under his belt, all with limited knowledge of the playbook.

Maybe the a little premature to be calling for anyone's head under those circumstances.

Nah. This is why i said you gotta really pay attention to whats said. Whats been said is malik is far ahead in knowing what to do. Anotherwords mentally he knows this is what he's supposed to do. But physically & mentally have zerobto do with each other. Cause if he was physically doing it as well this wouldnt be a conversation any longer. Hed say malik is executing everything asked of him.

Allison's still sitting on the bench though, but yes it's starting to reveal itself about their recruiting.

Still seems like missing out on Deshaun fuels Richt's QB decision making now.

I'm all on board with the dual threat QB "phenomenon", but I wonder if he is passing on other important QB traits in the belief he will coach them up.
Maybe Allison was hot garbage from Richt's perspective, but I often wonder how much worse than Rosier he really could have been. He should have stuck around to win the job, but apparently he got the vibe that wasn't ever going to happen.
