Scrimage Highlights

Just a heads up, if a libebacker decks a running back on a play fake, that means he bit on the fake and was out of position.

That depends on the coverage.

If you are in man coverage.. depending on formation.... Shaq could have been responsible for Gus as he went on a route. Thus shaq doing his job and eliminating gus as an option.

Point is. no one knows the playcall on either side.

that's why the debate is about physicality.

Testeverde comin for Kayaa. Did y'all see that bootleg roll out? He's obviously da goods

Yea because most Running backs go 100% on a play action pass after they get through the line of scrimmage. He did his job and hes not an option on that route

Exactly, he did his job. Some of y'all need help....

He did his job? Because you know the playcall right? You saw who caught the ball right?

Shut up.

It was playaction LOL his job is to sell the playaction. Shaq did his job of blowing him up. NFL backs get destroyed on plays like this all the time.

Did you ever play football?

Umm yeah and i played middle linebacker.....started varsity from sophomore too.

If you were any good.. or if you played youd know the back that sells the playaction can still run a route and be an option. It seems gus was doing just that. Why else would he cross the line of scrimmage? No one sells a playaction that hard.

Gus was going on a route after his fake, was unaware of his surroundings and got smacked.

Dont ever test me.. with ya dumb ***

Let's be real. You can't tell where he is on the field from that 2 sec clip. And no **** he is an eligible receiver. The QB's back is to him, he wasn't getting the ball. Was he unaware? Sure, he wasn't looking towards Shaq. But saying he wasn't physical on that one single play - Uhhhh okay, he got blindsided.

It's obvious your agenda is based more on disliking Gus (I like Yearby & Walton better by the way until proven otherwise) than if he did something incorrectly on the play. Lol at you calling me a dumb ***, guess you getting rustled.

But but it's only about physicality during that one second blind side. Herschel walker never got blindsided. And even when he did the linebacker did the falling. This is the debate pretty much. Thing is every running back is different and with all the coaching in the world still have that style. But saying this guy sucks after seeing a two second clip of him falling is stupid. Shaq i like a lot and honestly running with his pads down could have been just as bad for him. Shaq is that good. Like one poster said above, i haven't seen gus get blown up like that in a game so.

you're reaching to save face, here.

look at that play again. Gus is **** near 5 yards away from the Tackle blocking on the play. that play is at or a few yards past the line of scrimmage and its clear as **** even in that 2 second clip.

lol at a redshirt junior getting "blindsided" and owned by a frikkin freshman and yall making a boatload of excuses for his ****e.

That highlight is supposed to be Gus welcoming Shaq to CFB.

My agenda is based on shutting vern and his ridiculous drivel, up. Not on disliking Gus.

Calling you a dumbazz is stating facts.

Leave my jimmies out ya mouth and they wont get rustled.

No one is saying Gus sucks. Yall are reaching because you started an argument that you cant win.

It's comical.

It's comical how hard you are trying. My point is Gus sold the playaction, Shaq bit & then he lit Gus up after. Gus primary job was selling the fake & he did. He got dropped while he wasn't looking, it happens. It's not like you've been watching practice daily or even got to watch that entire play develop. You are trying way too hard to fault him for a 2 second clip.

By the way, Shaq is gonna be dropping a lot of people so get use to it. Denzel did too.

Lol at you still resorting to trying to talk ****, weak.

Hurricane Career

Augustus Edwards 127 carries 687 yards 5.4 YPC 11 TD

Mark Walton 129 carries 450 yards 3.5 YPC 9 TD

Yall focusing on 2-3 runs his freshman year instead of overall body of work

you're dumb af. you've yet to refute any of my points ;but contradict yourself in your own post. You claim to know what Gus primary job is but in the same token tell me i wasn't at practice.

You dumb fuq. YOU WERENT AT PRACTICE either, bish. you have no idea what Gus primary job was.

"He got dropped while he wasn't looking"< why is a redshirt juinor still lacking awareness? why is he running a route in the middle of the field and unaware of his opponent?

you are the only one trying to dissect a 2 second clip you **** ******.

My point= Gus isnt aware or physical

Video shows = Gus getting rocked bye a freshman by not being aware and physical

Point proven= Gus lacks awareness and physicality.

until Gus shows up on a highlight reel or in a game running someone slam tf over.... i'll continue to say he's soft.

You guys keep bending the narrative to the playcall when the only one dissecting the play is you idiots defending gus Full career of bichazznezz

And Gus has never been higher than the 3rd option at running back.... He was behind Duke, Crawford, Eduardo in 2013 and behind Duke yearby in 2014. Gus needs more carries period his production is at a high enough level that warrants it especially when he gets carries

From davidhaleespn...
Yards AFTER contact/run in 2014:
Edwards, 3.46
Duke, 2.45
Yearby, 1.59

BTW, Gus Edwards’ 3.46 yards AFTER contact/rush in 2014 was the most by any Miami back w/50+ carries since at least 2004.

I've seen every single touch from both backs over their career. I am a die hard Cane fan. Watch all the games at least twice. You can't tell me ish about gus i havent seen.

Again, i never said i disliked Gus or that he sucked. I just think he's soft.

You list those stats but they mean nothing to me in the grand scheme because i know talent when i see it. Richt clearly does too as no one has dethroned Walton from his spot and he is the only back Richt recruited that's here.

Funny how Richt has never mentioned his low YPC and him and Thomas NEVER have a bad thing to say about Walton.

Sure, Richt said there would be a committee approach but i guarantee Walton gets more carries than any other back because he is better than any other back on this team.

That seems to contradict the hairballs on here who constantly dog Gus for running soft and going down easy.

Or could've been something as simple as a blitz. That why it's stupid to breakdown five second clips.

"Gus runs too high" is the new "Herb Waters is slow". One person says it and all of a sudden it catches on.
The irony of Vern being the harbinger of Herb Waters hate
