Scrimage Highlights

you geniuses do realize gus wasnt even carrying the football in that clip, right?

Gus was an eligible receiver and shaq had 5 yard bump priveledge. Gus was going in like a bish and got wrecked.

What does him not having the ball have to do with our point of his constant lack of physicality?

Yea because most Running backs go 100% on a play action pass after they get through the line of scrimmage. He did his job and hes not an option on that route

Feliciano is a sissy too because he got flipped by that FSU DT who caught him unexpectedly as the play was winding down.

Dont matter. Enough of this soft "It was playaction and he did his job" BS. If that were a FSU LB that had body slammed his a$$ on the turf we would have said he was soft and said he got bytched.

I view that like I view Feliciano getting body slammed by Jernigan 4 years ago when they played down here. Yes..the play was over and it was cheap because Feliciano had stopped engaging but guess what..IT STILL LOOKED BAD! And against a rival!

Gus is a 6'2 235lb man. And he has been in the system for 3 years now. (or is it 4?) You think Alonzo Highsmith would have let Maurice Crum body slam him and call it "me doing my job"? GTFOH. Tell Gus to get his act together or be left behind!

:monkey-serious:

Exactly, he did his job. Some of y'all need help....

He did his job? Because you know the playcall right? You saw who caught the ball right?

Shut up.
And all yall saw the same 2 sec clip i did. How do you know gus didnt run through Willis or Norton right before getting to Shaq. Yall want to bash our players for anything. Oh Walton is garbage because he averaged yard per rush as a freshman. Oh berrios sucks cuz hes white. Stfu and root for success for our guys.

All this BS on a play which we didn't see develop. It wasn't even a heads up play. Gus has his back turned and when he turns around Quarterman is there waiting for him.

Would absolutely love for Gus to line up at fullback. He could do some sneaky good things from that spot.

It was playaction LOL his job is to sell the playaction. Shaq did his job of blowing him up. NFL backs get destroyed on plays like this all the time.

Did you ever play football?

Umm yeah and i played middle linebacker.....started varsity from sophomore too.

If you were any good.. or if you played youd know the back that sells the playaction can still run a route and be an option. It seems gus was doing just that. Why else would he cross the line of scrimmage? No one sells a playaction that hard.

Gus was going on a route after his fake, was unaware of his surroundings and got smacked.

Dont ever test me.. with ya dumb ***

Regardless of the hit bc Shaquille hit him now hes taken himself out the play leaving that area wide open for a crossing route, that's the stuff I'm worried about and will give up big plays this year, our freshman are studs and athletically gifted and blessed but I hope they get the mental part down quick or we'll be eaten alive by play action and misdirection

This? Let me tell you why you and "this" are irrelevant.

My point isnt about anything but gus lack of awareness and physicality so the play call really doesnt matter when it comes to that point.

It was one of you dumbazzez that mentioned gus not getting the ball.

I dont think anyone hates gus. We just hate the notion that he is considered the best back on the team. He has yet to show a nack for the much needed physicality at his size and position.

So. how do you know we aren't in man coverage and shaq is responsible for the Rb?

It's without a doubt yearby IMO... Mark Walton is going to have to show me... He didn't run very well last year on the ground but I did like what I saw out of him in the passing game... People bag on Gus Edwards for getting hit by Denzel perryman all the time who was one of Miamis best linebacker ever. Gus ain't never got hit like that in a game.. Look at Gus he has never gotten the chance to get an extended amount of carries. No he's not all world but he's better than what a lot of folks on here give him credit for...

I think people see his potential and become disappointed that he has yet to live up to it. He's a Cane. I love him because he chose to bleed on the field for that OG. That doesn't mean i won't call bullshid when i see it.

No ones rooting for him to suck.

Funny how Mark Walton is Richt's clear fave back but he has to show YOU more. Yall kill me.

Walton ran like a man as a true fresh in a bad offense.

"Gus runs too high" is the new "Herb Waters is slow". One person says it and all of a sudden it catches on.

That was two years ago. You havent seen squat in that span so you know nothing. Good day sir. Keep pushing your negative nancy narrative.

Gus running like he's 1 foot 2 97 pounds.

It was a dam play action pass he didnt even have the ball hater

Im not a hater. He runs soft. He's the 3rd or 4th best back on this team. Those are the facts.

Those are not facts, they are (at best) semi-informed opinion.

Here's a fact: in 2014 he averaged more YAC than any UM running back since 2004 (per David Hale).

Just a heads up, if a libebacker decks a running back on a play fake, that means he bit on the fake and was out of position.
