Scrimage Highlights

No one is saying Gus sucks. Yall are reaching because you started an argument that you cant win.

It's comical.

Hurricane Career

Augustus Edwards 127 carries 687 yards 5.4 YPC 11 TD

Mark Walton 129 carries 450 yards 3.5 YPC 9 TD

Yall focusing on 2-3 runs his freshman year instead of overall body of work

And Gus has never been higher than the 3rd option at running back.... He was behind Duke, Crawford, Eduardo in 2013 and behind Duke yearby in 2014. Gus needs more carries period his production is at a high enough level that warrants it especially when he gets carries

From davidhaleespn...
Yards AFTER contact/run in 2014:
Edwards, 3.46
Duke, 2.45
Yearby, 1.59

BTW, Gus Edwards’ 3.46 yards AFTER contact/rush in 2014 was the most by any Miami back w/50+ carries since at least 2004.

Yo, I'm getting sick and tired of these Al Golden and D'Onofrio stats. Gus' numbers are hella deceiving. He was a monster against D-2 schools and sub-division schools. He looked like the truth against those schools and he ran through arm tackles and broke long gainers. It's when we got into October and November that Gus was no where to be found. So tired of the ypc and after contact stats b/c they're hella deceiving.

"Gus runs too high" is the new "Herb Waters is slow". One person says it and all of a sudden it catches on.

Not making excuses but people been saying this **** forever and it's true. I dont care if he gets popped justget them yards

I remember ever single time we'd ride Duke into the redzone, then we'd see Duke jogging off the field, and Gus trotting on, and we all just knew we weren't scoring a TD on that drive.

Gus got a target on his **** chin.... sheesh

Dude runs too high

Lol so does Adrian Peterson and Todd Gurley and Derrick Henry / Gus is 6'1 - 6'2 is he suppose to run like Joe Yearby??

Look, I like Gus. Got some real talent. He has a tendency of running too tall. It's just an observation.
Hobestly no one is saying he doesnt. But people saying he isnt physical because our best linebacker caught him on a play that we seen 2 seconds of is comical. Maybe he is soft. Maybe he isnt. Facts are we havent seen year 4 gus or year 3 gus so who really knows. Dont come here and put a guy down for 10 straight post from watching a 2 second clip. Dont come here and say i like gus hes a cane and then follow with hes soft, hes the 3rd back, and name everything negative you can with nothing positive. Obviously you dont like him and have a narrative to push. I hope to revisit this after the season so we can see if this know it all stands by his statements.

Just a heads up, if a libebacker decks a running back on a play fake, that means he bit on the fake and was out of position.
Actually...that was his play...if Gus would have had the ball he makes the tackle...if Gus was to release into the flat that would have been his man to cover...he learned from Ray Lewis a few weeks ago...if you have a chance to stop a back from running his route then do it...by commiting to the play fake it allows the backer to mug the back..if the back just release the you have to cover...if the back goes into pass pro he drops into low hole coverage

I've seen every single touch from both backs over their career. I am a die hard Cane fan. Watch all the games at least twice. You can't tell me ish about gus i havent seen.

Again, i never said i disliked Gus or that he sucked. I just think he's soft.

You list those stats but they mean nothing to me in the grand scheme because i know talent when i see it. Richt clearly does too as no one has dethroned Walton from his spot and he is the only back Richt recruited that's here.

Funny how Richt has never mentioned his low YPC and him and Thomas NEVER have a bad thing to say about Walton.

Sure, Richt said there would be a committee approach but i guarantee Walton gets more carries than any other back because he is better than any other back on this team.
Homer is the best back on the team, but I hope we can redshirt him

Better to be aggressive and make a play than to be indecisive and get caught in no mans land. Watching our defense constantly overthinking, I would much rather see the reaction Shaq made, even if during a game something is considered a "misplay"
