He’ll get a long long leash. They won’t fire him and he won’t quit.

But this is where the questions come up. Perfect example.

He had success a small school. Failed at a big school.

Do we really want him? Would the singular reason he failed at a big school simply be because he didn’t have Florida players? Hmm

Tough place to recruit to and no local base. It is tough to restart failed programs even when you have a natural recruiting base as we are well aware.

When the Nebraska experiment at the end of the year or next year maybe he would be humbled enough to take this job. Developed two and three star talent at UCF and built a program from scratch. Offense would be fun to watch.

**** you not even gonna let Manny finish out his FIRST season before making these type of threads?

If we haven't got a big name coach in years why do we expect that to change. No big name coach wants to come here. Has to be an up and comer. Biggest name we could get would be Cristobal.
Mario could be decent with an OC that can develop QBs but has no hope of a better job. Other than that and he’s only as good as his coordinators. IMO.

This is practically insane. Why in the world would you want to hire a coach that wouldve been recently fired from a P5 school? A School that’s giving him every resource to win?

His teams have been getting hammered every week at Nebraska and his teams look soft, unprepared, undisciplined, and looks like a corch, but you want him here?

And he didn’t build UCF from scratch. He won with players George O’Leary recruited. Almost the entire team were O’Leary guys.
Frost was only there 2 years

Bill Belichick failed once too. That isn’t a commentary on Frost. You just have to look past the surface. What happened, and why? What did he learn from it? How good can he be? Simple blame and credit games are useless for complex evals.

Why are we talking about a new coach coming here? What has Diaz done for everybody to want him fired? Has he brought instant results? No. But, we are 7 points away from being 4-0. We lost to a Florida team that's currently undefeated and to a North Carolina team that was a 2 point conversion away from upsetting the number 1 team in the country. I'm riding with MD until the wheels fall off! Scott Frost is ****ting bricks in Nebraska. It hasn't even been a year since CMD was hired and you all want him fired. GTFOH!

He took over an 0-12 team. Literally 0-12. But yeah, O'Leary had him all set up to go undefeated and win a BCS bowl.

0-12? You’re not looking at the entire picture. You’re viewing this through a tiny prism, and that kind of thinking usually leads to big mistakes.

UCF’s record under O’Leary a few years leading up to that season:

2012: 10-4
2013: 12-1 (BCS bowl game and a win)
2014: 9-4
2015: 0-8 (O’Leary was burnt out and resigned 8 games into the season). His assistant coached the final 4 games.

This shows you front didn’t “build UCF from scratch”. Frost won with guys O’Leary recruited...guys that already tasted success in that program (10, 12 and 9 win seasons with bowl game appearances in those years). And the played in a BCS bowl game in 2013, and won.

2015 was an extreme outlier. It was an anomaly.

O’Leary’s regime spotted and recruited the talent frost won with.
