Schiano will be the next HC at Miami - IMO

Dan Mullen and Mark Stoops would be good hires, but neither is leaving their gig to come to Miami.

Pep Hamilton or Chud would do great as HC and play caller for us, if they wanted to come back to college. I'd, at least, kick their tires.

I think Schiano will get a look, but how serious that look is depends on how the season goes for Memphis and the offense at Alabama. If Kiffin works another episode of QB whisperer, he's going to be in the mix. And if Memphis has another 10+ win season and AAC title, Fuente might be at the top of the list.

Question for Fuente will be does he want the Illinois job, more?

Believe it or not, the next HC we get will have to WANT to live in South Florida. And that life ain't fo everybody, no matter how great some of yall think it is. I worked for a company that couldn't get anybody to take the job down there because they couldn't get with the culture. That's important. It's not just about wins ... It's about where they want their family to be.

That's partially why I doubt Mullen or Stoops would leave their current gigs.

I see the short bus has dropped off many in this thread.

Some of the worst suggestions include Tubbs or Schiano. Keep up the good work!

Evidently if a coach has spent just one second at the university of Miami then he is highly qualified to be the next head coach. I don't know if these posters are just young or mentally challenged.

**** it, why not Art Kehoe. The man has been here spanning 3 decades. Give him the Head Coaching job. Since being at the university is the only qualification then no one is more qualified than Art Kehoe.

Art for Head Coach

Schianos ceiling is about the same as Golden's Imo.
i gotta agree with it. U guys can say what u will about pros vs college. But I watched a Guy who is stubborn to a fault he's in Tampa. And if his defense aint work in the pros (Worst pass defense) with Revis McCoy David Pro Bowlers at every level. How will it work without free agency or trades.

You think its a NJ pipeline now he would take it to another level. He turned the bucs into a rutgers pro day every week signing bums from throughout his college tenure.

His success at Miami coincides when the era of the Deepest Greatest most dominant CFB of all time. Why didn't he duplicate said success at Rutgers? His teams were competitive against big schools that they played once a year after the cake walk Big East schedule.

Bum

I would prefer to go the coordinator route. If we go HC, we'll be trying to secure HCs with .500 records down here.

Coordinators:
Doug Meachem
Jeremy Pruitt
Scott Frost
Mike Norvell

well since everyone is putting thier candidate for next Head Coach out there i have one Kirby Smart the Defensive Coordinator at Alabama the guy has never lead a program befor true but you have to think being. Nick Saban's right hand man for the last 5 years he has to have learned how to run a program / organization and he is a defensive minded SEC type coach who i believe is looking for a fresh start outside the SEC thats why he hasn't really interviewed for any. SEC jobs its going to cost us probably 3 mill but i think he is a football junkie who has learned under one of the greatest. I feel he will do great things here just my opinion, i kno some will disagree but hey it's going to be a fun year to see how Al Golden handles all of this pressure to Win the Coastal i like that Blake James finally gave a hardline on a goal for this year no lets see if he will stand by it..... GO CANES!!!!!

Yeah how dare we throw out the possibility of Schiano or Tubbs getting the job. NOT whom we want, just throwing the name out there for the sake of discussion. Its not like Tubbs "wasnt" contacted for the job when Coker was canned as well as when Shannon was canned as well. Also Schiano still popular amongst the B.O.T. HOW DARE WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE...

Cause if they never coached at Miami they wouldn't even be considered by some in our fan base. There's nothing wrong with people discussing those guys. But some are convinced that Mario Chud or Schiano should legitimately be our next HC. That's what I have a problem with. We should be looking for the next great coach not some guy just cause he spent some time at the university of Miami.

Well that discussion should only take place on the short bus.

Schiano would have this program back guy is smart tough and can sale

Yes, he has accomplished a whole lot of nothing and would replicate that at Miami. But then again, our fans are used to nothing over the last 12 years.

Nobody would bring up Schiano other than the fact that he blows if he didn't go to Miami.

It's weird. When Miami hired Golden all anyone could talk about is how he turned around Temple. But you don't see any of those same people hyping up Schiano for taking Rutgers far beyond what Golden achieved at Temple. At a school that was just as bad as Temple.

Have they all learned their lesson, or does that kind of thing only matter when it's a coach they want to support in the first place?
