Just take your L and move on. Stop.

@Tony Perps - I know you love calling me out about Walton

So now that Walton was a 4th round pick (and out of the league) and Scarlett is a 5th round pick....

Is the Walton vs. Scarlett discussion back open for debate? Or is this still a lock it up win for Walton?

i guess wed have to see how JS does his first year in the league and compare those to Waltons?

While it pains me to say this...Scarlett will have a better pro career at RB. He's more of an every down NFL back than Walton. I think Walton could've stuck around longer than Scarlett. If he was used correctly on special teams.

Agreed.

Scarlett doesn't have too much of a hill to climb - Walton had 34 yds rushing / 41 yds receiving / 75 total yds

Anything can happen - Scarlett may get hurt, or get cut, or just end up sucking. There's a (slim) chance some team still picks Walton up.

It's just funny people acted like this was a "There's no discussion, 100% Walton is better" outcome at this time last year.

Scarlett can’t move laterally.

Walton had a better college career and got drafted higher. He’s clearly better so far. If he gets his demons in check, I suspect he will be a better pro.

I'm amazed your still holding on to this DMoney - especially after Walton's terrible Rookie year AND legal troubles.

There are so many things at this point showing Scarlett was better at the HS & College levels - and will be at the Pro (projected) levels

Walton was great in the NC St. game, but at some point you have to you've got to let that go. You can't base Walton's career on that 1 game.

And to clarify - I'm not saying Scarlett is some great RB, he's just an ok NFL prospect. He's just better than Walton.

There are no facts to support anything you said.

Walton was better in high school. He was ranked higher and rushed for more yards as a senior.

Walton was better in college. He put up better numbers and got drafted higher.

Those are the facts. How will their pro careers turn out? I expect Scarlett to suck. Walton is at a crossroads because he is messing up off the field. If he stays on the field, I expect him to be better than Scarlett. If he doesn't, they'll both be out of the league in three years.

if scarlett manages to average 3 yards/carry and stay on the panthers for 12 months then he'll have the better nfl career since mark apparently can't manage to go a whole two months without getting arrested. he's flushing his career down the toilet with stupid crimes.

Don’t waste your time, months ago, I was twenty posts in to a back and forth with this gentleman, all facts based, and it was like running head first into a brick wall.

The only thing that explains it is he’s family.

But there are facts to support that. You just dismiss them every time I've ever posted them.

We've been through this 1,000 times - but let's just do it one more time

And if you read all this....can you maybe....just maybe.....acknowledge that if Scarlett ends up better than Walton, there may be at least something in these stats that gave some kind of indication?

High School

Walton Senior Year
- 203 att - 1,473 yds - 7.2 ypc - 22 TD's
Scarlett Senior Year - 114 att - 1,014 yds - 8.9 ypc - 22 TD's

Walton 247 Ranking - #83 overall, #10 RB
Scarlett 247 Ranking - #117 overall, #12 RB

- Walton gained more yards, but I'd say Scarlett had the better year. The difference in their ranking was minimal
- All good South Florida RB's in the last 15 years average around 8.0 ypc their last season.

College

Overall

Walton
- 395 att - 1,995 yds - 5.1 ypc - 26 TD's
Scarlett - 344 att - 1,846 yds - 5.4 ypc - 12 TD's

VS. Non-P5
Walton
- 111 att - 914 yds - 8.2 ypc - 15 TD's
Scarlett - 44 att - 222 yds - 5.0 ypc - 2 TD's

VS. P5
Walton
- 284 att - 1,081 yds - 3.8 ypc - 11 TD's
Scarlett - 300 att - 1,624 yds - 5.4 ypc - 10 TD's

VS. P5 (Just Sophomore year)
Walton
- 161 att - 716 yds - 4.4 ypc - 7 TD's
Scarlett - 155 att - 757 yds - 4.9 ypc - 5 TD's

- It's very obvious that Walton beat up on bad teams, and was not very good against good ones. Scarlett was much better against P5
- The Walton scores more TD's isn't valid if you look at P5 competiton
- Walton's ypc vs. P5 teams is the worst of any P5 RB drafted in the last 15 years. Don't believe me? Tell me who's worse
- Yearby, Homer, Gus, Scarlett, Dexter Williams - all average more ypc vs. P5
- Even just their Soph year vs P5 - Scarlett averaged a half yard more per carry, Walton had 2 more TD's. You can call this a push - but for whatever reason after this year Walton became "one of the best RB's in the country" while Scarlet was "a bum". It never made any sense.
- Against P5 teams - Walton averaged over 4 ypc in 6 out of 22 games (27%) and 4 out of 10 (40%) in his Soph year
- Against P5 teams - Scarlett averaged over 4 ypc in 18 out of 28 games (64%) and 7 out of 11 (64%) in his Soph year
- Against P5 teams - Walton averaged under 3 ypc in 8 out of 22 games (36%). Scarlett did in 3 out of 28 games (11%)

NFL

Preseason -
22 att - 21 yds - 1.0 ypc
Regular Season - 14 att - 34 yds - 2.4 ypc
Total - 36 att - 55 yds - 1.5 ypc

- This was a historically bad rookie season
- PFF ranked him 28th out of 28 rookie RB's
- 10 UDFA RB's got an NFL carry last year. 7 ran for more yds than Walton. All averaged 3.8+ ypc when Walton averaged 2.4 ypc
- Walton was a 4th rounder, Scarlett was a 5th. The difference is minimal
- Of the 28 RB's drafted in the 5th round in the last 10 years, 26 (93%) rushed for more than Walton in their rookie seasons.
- Walton was arrested 3 times in the span of 2 months this offseason

So with all this above - why would an NFL pick up Walton? What good film is there of him at the NFL level? The chances of a team taking him is extremely slim.

NOW THROW ALL OF THAT OUT. NONE OF IT MATTERS

All you had to do in the first place was look at Walton's combine numbers. He's 202 and runs a 4.6. Scarlett is 208 and runs a 4.4

Here's a list of all the drafted RB's under 210 lbs who ran a 4.6 40 at the combine in the last 20 years:

2nd Round - Ameer Abdallah
3rd Round - Devin Singletary
4th Round - Mark Walton, Ka'Deem Carrey, Travis Stephens, Mewelde Moore, Alvin Peerman
5th Round - Marques Hagans, Joe Randle
6th Round - Andre Ellington, Theo Riddick, Marion Grice, Mike Hart, Kelvin Taylor
7th Round - Storm Johnson, Jawan Jamison, Marcus Murphy, Justin Forsett, Shyrone Stith

@DMoney - who in that list above do you think has had as good or better a career than Duke Johnson, like you said Mark Walton would?

Hype up Walton's receiving, special teams, blocking, character, etc. all you want. None of it matters if you're a Running Back who can't RUN.
