Off talent he’s 1000% a take. Big bodied NT with short area quickness and agility.

Its more so of the “ohh now you wanna play for Miami” but when **** wasn’t jumping you ain’t wanna be here. I get kids change there minds but the question lies is would he still want to be here if his teammates wasn’t about to jump on board? I highly doubt it.

u still take him and he loves UM later on, this class will spread like wildfire in sfla and the next class will want to play with these guys. This class is shaping up to be the day Miami changed it around and got to the forefront of cfb............this is that class

I think Maason Smith goes to LSU and we keep Collins. Him going to UF would be unfortunate, but not unexpected. If Collins goes to LSU I think it helps our chances with Smith but it's still a longshot.
Are you getting mixed up with Collins and Collier. There has been no smoke with Collins going to LSU

I'm glad he confirmed his commitment so the Lizard prognosticators can shut up about him going to the lizards or not a take for us. We finally get to a point where can get a top rated SOFL DT and some here want to act like the kid garbage.

Collins said in the interview he gives it a "60/40 chance" he will sign with Miami during the early Decemeber period. He said he's gonna take visits for sure & is isn't ruling out LSU or UF. He & Stroud are strengthening the relationship.

Basically, Collins will probably stick, but if he doesn't we already have a contingency plan in place with Darrell Jackson. The ball is in Collins court, the staff has done everything they need to make him feel welcome & he has a spot in this class it's just up to him if he wants to keep it.

But this ain't a situation to worry about, if he's still shaky & won't shutdown his recruitment we'll quickly move on.
I'd say keep Collins in the class as I think with a fire lit under him he can be a STUD!!

if he does play games like you mention, drop him and get Sapp. I only drop Collins if Sapp for sure wants in.

He is insanely gifted... Here is how he compared as a Junior in HS to our recent NFL guys. Not sure if he lost some speed but is supposedly up to 330 lbs with one more year of high school. If he can get in the right training and diet, he can be force in the middle.

Crazy thing about Collins was that he actually ran faster at 290 than he did at 265! He put on 25 lbs in 8 months and ran just as fast... would have been curious to see his results from this year but a 4.85 at 290 for a 16-17 year old is pretty good... The last time he tested was 1.5 years ago as a 10th grader.

6. DT Savion Collins (Miami commit) – At first glance Collins looks like a prospect that might be a little stiff given his build, but he is far from that. The Miami Palmetto product moved well when asked to run the bags and then showed his flexibility during 1-on-1s as he was able to get low and bend around a number of offensive linemen.

Savion Collins, DT, Miami, FL (Miami Palmetto)
Collins gets bigger and better every time I see him, but he somehow keeps his trademark quickness. He is easily over 300 pounds at this point, but he was still able to win reps even working on the outside with his speed and athleticism. His handwork and technique is improving as well, as he showed off a nasty rip and swim move to go along with his fast feet. He’s just a rare type of interior lineman prospect that doesn’t come around often.

Good info. Physical tools are all there for the most part, just needs to keep working. Kid has monster potential.
