Saturday practice buzz

Well he was listed as a senior at 225 on the official Canes site and I remember him playing a little too heavy for his size at the time. Golden loved to fatten kids up for whatever reason.

My point was just that Steed may be too small for LB especially given our DTs. Steed also only got back to form at the end of last season as an OLB so I just think it’s too much to rely on him on the inside. I’d love being wrong but it’s not an unreasonable concern.
There is really no olb in a 4-2-5. The mike and will are basically the same

Sure but we’re not alway going to be be in a 4-2-5. A guy like Shaq brings a ton of value to any team. We still are missing that chess piece.

Perryman wasn’t small lol he was short but his last 2 years he played at 245-250. And we arent going to be that small up front. Taylor at 300, jhh is at what 290 now could be 295-300 by the season, lichenstein is 285 so he could be 290+, Miller 320, haye listed at 305, moten coming in is 323. They aren’t huge but it’s enough size
Perryman never played at 250 at UM....He was 220 coming in as a frosh....might have been 235 Tops as a Sr...

I didn’t even say it was a mistake. Who knows what happened. I just say he might have played it wrong. If Nesta wanted Mario to kiss his a$$ into staying then Mario player it just right. But if Mario never even reached out to see if Nesta even interested in staying one more year....meh..I don’t know..
I know you didn't. I inferred that he may have. He may indeed have played it wrong or maybe he didn't. I don't know. If he never reached out to see if he was interested then he may have miscalculated but that doesn't sound like Mario to me. Mario comes across as a stand up guy who does his due diligence. Maybe Nesta assumed that there would be a problem without giving it a chance. I don't know bro but that is all water under the bridge and ancient history to me. Decisions were made and like you said who knows what happened.

Your weight approximates are virtually all off. Way off on DP as SWFL pointed out

If Don Chaney is healthy my money is still on him being #1 rb with Thad and Knighton getting equal 2nd team reps. That would be the perfect three back rotation for me this season.
Coach Smith not gonna have his back transfer from Ole miss and not get him some carries also.. He will have a role

Thanks D Money

George is that dude at wr.

I'd love to see us periodically us a split back set with Rooster an Chaney back there or any combination of our backs. That would be a nightmare to cover, as they all can run inside, outside, and catch out of the backfield..

Did Gattis use a lot of 2 Back sets at Michigan? I think we have an extremely talented backfield and need to take advantage of the different types of backs we have.
Get Franklin or Chaney lined up in the backfield with Knighton then have the option of pre snap moving Knighton out wide as an extra WR depending on the defensive set. TVD has the smarts to make that call on the field.
