Saban in the Late 90s Spent a Lot Time at Greentree (with Butch) Learning the Miami Blueprint

Even though the university tried to ***** butch on his contract.I've always wondered what kind of legacy butch would've had if he hadn't left.after getting that he could of walked in the deans office and said either fire me or that butch assistant you have in the ads office.

You guys are forgetting, when Butch was here he had his resume in to every job that became available. His wife hated Miami, and he was looking for the next gig...so the idea of legacy is silly. He was leaving as soon as he could. Not to mention, Butch was and still is a terrible game day coach. Brilliant talent evaluator and developer, but really bad game day coach. Now if you could marry Butch's talent ability with Dennis Erickson's game day coaching...now you would be cooking with fire...

And we would of sent there *** back to kkk ville with there big fat L. Now when we see then in two years they will nail the coffin in Manny. Or the new HC will get destroyed because of Manny either or

Maybe so, maybe they would have gave us an L too, we beat them for one in 89 they beat us for one in 92

So, Les Miles, Nick Saban, and Mack Brown are not too old to coach, but Butch Davis is because there is still a grudge that he supposedly left UM at the altar.

Then, let's try this scenario....So, if Lincoln Riley moves onto the Dallas Cowboys, the way Steven A. Smith has been discussing, Oklahoma wouldn't take back Bob Stoops, if he wanted to return? Of course OK would take back Stoops! The last time he won was in 2000.

Would be because he is 59 years of age,. as compared to Butch's 67 years? So, 8 years is what is precluding the greatest turnaround specialist in modern day college football to return to a job he is passionate about?

These people here r cooked man they haven’t seen a real HC in ages they got suckered by MD from jump

I am glad Manny said this is a Rebuild. Now, we need a true Turnaround Specialist that has proven it. At the end of this year, the program will be at the depths it was when it almost imploded before Schnelly came in saved it, and Turned it Around.

Mikes, saban, cutliffe, Mack, all in their late 60’s.
Unless Lincoln Riley is coming here let’s stop it with the up and coming coach. Scott Frost hasn’t been lighting it up at Nebraska. But the fan base is giving him a lot slack on the leash.
I agree we need to stop looking at age as a factor.

Butch would be successful here again because 1. He knows how to bring in a good professional staff and 2. One of the best recruiting talent guys there has been.

Manny Diaz is struggling right now partly due to the staff he has put together. He did not want to hire a Big name Assistant because he thinks it would overshadow him. With that being said, he has put together a real lousy staff!!!!

True, just look at FIU's success.
Different circumstances and different players. I would take Butch Davis over this **** show we have any day of the week. Butch Davis would not lose to Georgia tech with the players we have now. But you are a manny nut hugger so of course you would hate on Butch.
